Hatched an aerodactyl at long last! Only need a dragonite to finish the first gen pokedex. Have dranitini as my walking buddy... only need to walk 440km 😣. Did a mass evolve session with a lucky egg so about to level up to 28.

Tips for using a Pokémon go plus...

Store up your pokeballs and just keep it in your hand all the time. It's got an amazing battery life.

It collects the common Pokémon brilliantly but as it only throws one ball per Pokémon you miss a lot. My hit rate is about 50%. It's fun to go through what you've caught when you get home but occasionally you realize that you've missed something amazing 😭. See attached Snapchat screenshot.

Its definitely not a replacement for non Pokémon go plus catching but it's still useful.

I'm way to old to be playing Pokémon go and as non of my sensible pals play it I'm hesitant to have my phone out all the time. The Pokémon go plus is a great way for me to be able to play when I wouldn't normally be able to e.g. When I'm with my pals doing a guided tour of a National Trust house or even if you are just out somewhere for coffees.

Do you get more pokestops with it as I miss loads when in the car even at less than 30 mph

Does anyone know with Eevee do I have to use the name trick to get the other evolutions? Or will it happen randomly eventually anyway? Only got Vaporean x 3 so far.

Yes, definitely. If far more forgiving of the speed restriction than by swiping a pokestop manually. You can also use it while driving something you obviously couldn't if you were swiping manually.

How on earth could anyone be on level 39? That must need playing 24/7, surely?

We went to Surrey for the weekend and saw so many pokemon in gyms that showed that we had already battled them before- those people must do a lot of traveling! We also had several brand new pikemon poof. Frustrating doesn't even begin to cover it.

@AbbeyRoadCrossing to get Espeon rename Eevee to Sakura, and Tamao to get Umbreon. AFAIK it only works once with each.

I could've caught Azumarill and Hootowl in the wild but decided to wait until I do a lucky egg mass evolve as I have enough candy for both. It won't be today as I barely get 3G here (have to go about a mile south to hit a Pokestop, walking past 7 that I can't open) and the phone refuses to recognise my 4G dongle.

So with the Pokemon Go Plus. Do you need the app open too? Or can it be closed and in your bag?! I could hit a pokestop all day long but can't have my phone out in my office.

Pokemon Go Plus is best used when you can't be bothered playing / catching things individually or you're in a rush to a train station or similar and don't have time to stop but do have time to hit your wrist!

If you are after catching new/rare pokemon, play the game properly as you'll miss some.

You can run the app in the background once you have synced to the Go Plus and it will still work and record distances etc.

Success rate at catching Pokemon is low as you only get once chance at each, but it's very speedy so you will catch more on a fast walk than if you'd try to get them all yourself.

This means it's good for storing up loads of basic Pokemon for doing a lucky egg with and evolving tonnes at once. You will need pokemon storage space (on offer until today?).

There's a guy on our FB group that's level 38 or 39, and yes he spends most of his waking life, and maybe more, playing pokemon

I did a big evolve today and have lots of newbies, including a blissey. They can be beaten in gyms BTW- it just takes longer. I find they don't like solar beam. Training your own teams gym up if one's in at the bottom is another story though!

I wish the evolution thingies were a tad more common- only had one so far, for a seadra. Been lucky with eggs though- only had a couple of rubbish ones.

I got a rock to evolve a slowpoke today..I got nothing yesterday on 7 day spin..This was not on 1st spin of the day.. I was sat at DS class ( which is a pokestop ) spinning every 5 mins.

I'd love an average dratini I've got one from the autumn that was mediocre then, and seriously rubbish now. It doesn't seem worth walking up the candy on it.

My local gyms have gone mad while I've been away over the weekend. The fair weather players that got strong over the summer then disappear at the weekends are back clogging up the gyms with their high powered superfighters. Pah. I need them to get bored of gen2.

I have to confess my DS put a blissey on a gym he just took. I explained how hard it would be to train it up but someone has taken it back already. It was at a pub.. I reckon they were in there..

I should have enough candies for a blissey by next weekend. Best strategy is to put in a gym that already has a few pokemon in it?

Instinct have been busy while I've been away over the weekend. All my local gyms up to level 10. Can't even face trying to take them on alone. Actual battling is pretty boring...ok up to level 5 or so then it is just a slog.

We got 72k xp last night through a lucky egg session. Added a Rapidash, Ninetails, Umbreon, Espeon and Maril's evolution.

There is a pikachu with a party hat at my closest to work pokestop but I can't dash out because I'm waiting for a phone conference to start, dang.
