Caught a Yanma and a Misdreavus today but I just can't catch Spinaraks. I have seen 12 but only caught 4 and I think these were all caught by ds rather than by me. My balls just fly right through them. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I finally hatched a baby!!!!!

But it came from a 10km egg. Is that normal?

I just hatched a Smoochum from a 5k egg, 4th baby for me.
I think my elekid came from a 10k egg.

Now I feel ripped off

I still don't have a lapras, snorlax, onyx or gyrados

That's weird, it was definitely a 5k egg I just hatched. Was your egg maybe one that you got before Gen 2 came out?
I'm still waiting for an aerodactyl and only ever got one lapras.

After not getting any 10k eggs since the beginning of December I got 2 yesterday! Huzzah!

I hatched my porygon from 5k egg so very pleased with that.

There's talk on one of my pokemon FB pages that 10k eggs are more common since the update. I got a gligar out of my second, and a phanpy and smoochum from 5ks. All new to me, so I'm happy. Less happy that some git took a gym place that we'd spent ages and lots of revives training up

7 day pokestop checkin = sun stone and an up-grade

Not sure what I can use them on yet!

I've been lurking. I've had two metal coats and a dragon scale now. I got the dragon scale from my 7 day streak and no idea when I got one of my metals coats. I can't beat the Blissey in one of my local gym but as it's a friendly gym that's not a bad thing. Hoothoot are pretty common round by me.

That Ursaring looks menacing! I wouldn't want to bump into him in a dark alley.

I need balls. Desperately. But I can't be arsed to go to the nearest town to stock up.

The best thing about this update is that the energy saver is finally working on my phone!

Very fruitful wander around Kelvingrove Park and hte University area of Glasgow this morning! Finally caught the elusive Aerodactyl (right by the fountain if anyone's local) and also a Sudowoodo (very weird looking thing), Wooper, Marill, Yanma, Remoraid, Togepi from an egg, Pinchu from another egg, Wobbuffet and Subbull. Now sitting on caught 162, seen 176 on the Pokedex.

Upgrade evolves porygon, sunstone does Gloom to Bellossom and another one I hadn't heard of. I think...

Our gyms have gone back to being active. It was so nice to have been in one for a week.

I've been in a local gym, right at the bottom of the list, for three weeks now. It is in a wood, well defended by mud, inaccessible by car and with no streetlights. I knocked the defenders out and popped in my 34 point beastie just to claim the coins and it's still there.

I caught a dancing tree this morning.

I did a Lucky Egg mass evolve today which got me 49000XP. I also got some newbies which are :-

Espeon.
Umbreon.
Alakazam.
Crobat.
Furret.
Ariados.
Nidoking.

New catches today were :-

Dunsparce.
Sunkern.
Sneasel.
Sudowoodo.

I now have 157 in my 'dex and am 139/250k through Level 27.

Smart move doing that lucky egg mass evolve. I am so impatient! I could have been level 28, but no...😛
So I have a predicament, I have runout of data, 4days to go, and all I can think about is my 7 day steak, hatching eggs and missing out on new Pokémon. I grudge paying more when I already pay quite a lot on my monthly contract. But in the 3 hours since it ran out i can't stop thinking about it. My son asked me what I would say if he asked to spend money "for a game". What should I do? Cold turkey on principle, or just splash out.

What you should do, loc, depends on how you pay for extra data. If you have to buy a wodge of data up front you may just have to go cold turkey, but if you just pay for what you use I suggest you switch off your data until you get to pokestop, whack it on for long enough to spin the pokestop and catch one pokemon and then switch it off again each day. LOL!
