What does wagering mean?

I have just joined a casino website. They offer you 50 free spins on a slot machine.

I did this and won £25.

Now it says I need to wager this money 60x before I can withdraw.

What on earth does this mean?

Some guy said I need to place bets of £1500. But I don't have this kind of money and I wouldn't gamble it anyway. This is supposed to be a risk free chance at making money.

It means you need to bet 60 times the amount before you withdraw it I think. It is how they get you in.

It means you can't actually cash out this "free" cash win until you play the slots with your £25 60 times. In other words you will never get this cash out, all sites do this to suck people in to chase their wins. I used to work for a site like this.

Ah right so I am not adding any of my own money into it I am just using the £25 on the slot machines again and any money from that goes on the slot machines again and so on until I've done it 60 times? (assuming my money doesn't run out.

Of course 60 times wagering is over the top. It's designed to have people chase their win so they don't lose the so called free win. Nothing in an online casino or bingo site is done to benefit the player only the house wins.

Thanks, this is useful. I was trying to figure out what they meant by wagering requirements! I'm glad mines not 60 x, its only 4 x on bingo or 10 x on slots at sailorbingo.com. It makes sense now, still annoying but looks like they all do it. Anyone know why?
