Witcher 3

I keep talking about how amazing and brilliant Witcher 3 is on other threads. I thought it was probably about time we had a dedicated Witcher thread (though I do like getting derailed and talking about other games too). So, who else is playing/has played/wants to play? Anyone else obsessed with Gwent? Triss or Yen? What big decisions have you made? I'm on my second play through, on game plus mode. I've got the first dlc pack but need to be a couple levels higher before I can play the new missions. I know some of you out there love it too, right?

I'm afraid it may be too late for Mr Ash - he ate calzone the other night and we have made stop motion animations together. And that was before Parks and Rec was made. I sometimes wonder if the makers of the show knew him somehow and based Ben on my dh. It's uncanny. Just to clarify though, I'm no Leslie Knope! I've never been organised.

Great steps forward for your ds, it's a huge deal! Lovely to see progress being made, isn't it?! MiniAsh tried to write the number 3 this morning which was all kinds of exciting. The whole part where we didn't know what was going on with ds was majorly stressful - but the older he got the easier it was to spot traits, and the lack of them, and proceed with getting the right help. There's a couple boys at ds' nursery with developmental delay but no specific diagnosis - their mums find it a bit stressful that people often want a label, but not having one doesn't mean their sons don't need extra help and understanding! I just wrote our statement of why we think ds should get an extra year of nursery rather than start primary school. I just wish there was somewhere I could add in his great sense of humour, his amazing smile, enthusiasm and generosity rather than everything negative about why primary isn't a good idea yet. People should value the whole individual, not just the sum of their difficulties.

The life modelling job was awesome, though I sometimes think it's weird there are hundreds of naked pictures of me out there. I never felt judged at all by the artists, was always very comfortable and respected, and the tutors were great. I actually quite fancied one and thought about asking him out after my last class with him but I'd met dh by then so never did. I did worry about him turning me down though, since he's seen me in my birthday suit it wouldn't have been good for my confidence necessarily - I couldn't say well, he doesn't knew what he's missing because he would, and his mother was also a tutor I'd modelled for - didn't like the idea of my boyfriend's mother having seen me naked. Would have made for a very awkward dinner table! It got a bit weird when I was having a exam with a gynaecologist and her nurse had been one of the students - I thought this woman really has seen every inch of me! It's nice to have such fond memories of the job. I think all bodies are interesting to draw, lots of lines and curves, shapes - the reason I got lots of work was because I sat so still it made it easy for the students to draw, don't think it had anything to do with shape necessarily. Such a peaceful job!

Ds only started with real Lego when he turned 3, and got into Lego and duplo at the same time. He found dh's Lego millennium falcon and decided that was worth playing with and been hooked ever since. The falcon did break up a bit, but dh rebuilt it last night so can't wait to show ds this morning 😄 I bought my very own piece of Star Wars Lego yesterday, planning on building it tonight. Dh says he's very proud of me!

Oh, I would love to be Leslie Knope; the drive, confidence, optimism and yes, the organisational skills are amazing! Can Mr Ash impart his calzone skills to my DH, please? or just any cooking ability, frankly!

When will you find out about your application to delay MiniAsh's start? There should be a box where you can put all the good stuff! Our risk assessments at work have been including a section for 'strengths' for years, in recognition of the fact that they were overwhelmingly negative previously.

Ha, that would have made for some awkward scenarios! I live in a smallish town so I dare say if I ever modelled I'd know half the students in there...naked in front of strangers is much easier than people you know, I think! I went to a the antenatal assessment unit once and one of the midwives on duty was someone I knew from work, was dreading in case she got assigned to me. Although maybe I'll stick life modelling on the ever-increasing list of jobs that are nicer than the one I currently do...

OK, I have big news...I HAVE FINISHED WITCHER!!! Grin Grin Grin And I've just bought and started Hearts of Stone. I got a positive ending, I think, and Geralt is apparently happily shacked up somewhere with Triss. Though looking at the two of them together, I'm wishing I'd stuck with Yen. If I ever get chance for another playthrough I'll go that route. The final battle was actually not as bad as I expected it was going to be, although I did have it on super-easy, but still, I have died several times on that setting, so I was really chuffed with myself that I got him first go!

Are you watching the new X files series? I'm quite enjoying the nostalgia trip! Also got Jessica Jones on the go, bit dark so I have to pace myself with that one. I remember bingewatching Breaking Bad and just being in a weird state of feeling totally bleak and depressed but also excited by the quality of it. Could have been due to the newborn sleep deprivation, too...

I hope the new lego has turned out well, and that MiniAsh is enjoying his newly rebuilt falcon!

Mr Ash's calzones are all shop made I'm afraid. Though he makes an awesome enchilangne - it's enchilada but laid out like a lasagne. It's awesome, one of my most favourite dishes ever. He tends to do most of the cooking as MiniAsh is usually tired and just wants me by dinner time. I love cooking but don't do it as often as I would like. Leslie is my hero. I wish I had as much drive and energy as she does. She totally rocks.

Not sure when we will hear back about the application to defer, hopefully not too long. His teacher had an area for his strengths which was good, and she put some good stuff in there. At least it's out of our hands now. We can appeal if it doesn't get accepted, and we have reports from his educational psychologist and teacher all saying he should get the deferral too so fingers crossed. He actually talked to another boy of his age at the park yesterday! He told the boy he could go first down the slide - "you go, you go!" and gestured towards the slide. Other kid totally understood him, no help from me, all instigated by himself, it was huge! But definitely didn't get a mention on the application.

Life modelling is definitely a good job. You should get danger money with it too though - once the big drapes behind me lit on fire and I ended up leaping off the stage I was on. Not my most dignified moment! I was just glad my robe didn't light on fire too.

Well done for finishing Witcher! That's awesome! Better Triss than nobody, my poor Geralt from my first game is all lonesome. Delighted I managed to woo Yennefer on my second play through (and Triss was all wistful as well, ha!) I'm hoping the second dlc will include a love interest for him to live happily ever after with. The final battle of the main quest (not dlc) was intense, if not overly taxing. I love the dlc, hope you're enjoying it too. Dh is convinced that the new dlc will be released on the 4th March, same day the new Zelda is getting released. It'll be like having to choose between dh and ds - I really hope there's at least a week long gap!

I haven't watched the new X Files yet, definitely going to. Have it recorded so maybe tonight. I loved the first few series of the X Files, seems such a long time ago. I saw a review for one of the episodes of the new season and it sounds amazing. I do want to watch Jessica Jones, total Marvel fan, as soon as I'm finished Person Of Interest it's next on my list. I once binge watched a season of 24 within a couple days when recuperating from an operation - was totally bored and needed a distraction so dh thought it'd keep me occupied. It really worked, and also made me totally paranoid. I haven't seen Breaking Bad, it's another I keep meaning to watch as well. They make way too much good to tv these days! Man, any time I think I'm sleep deprived these days I try to remember the new born days. That was sleep deprivation. Makes me wonder why people have second babies.

The Lego went down a treat, he also got a stargazing Lego friends set which is totally amazing apparently. There's a star chart and observatory in a tree, best thing ever. They are doing a Space project at nursery and between that and CBeebies Stargazing it's all very interesting to him just now. Dh is cartwheeling with glee since he's a big space geek! Nice to see them bonding over another shared interest.
