Vegan AND fat free - is it possible?

Hi everyone, I'm vegetarian for ethical reasons and keen to further reduce my consumption of diary etc. However, I have a medical problem with my gallbladder which means I can't eat fat (anything over about 3% causes problems for me). So, although lots of my meals are accidentally vegan, I do rely very heavily on e.g. fat free Cottage cheese, quark, 0% yoghurt and semi-skimmed milk. I really can't manage nuts or seeds (one would be fine, but a handful would be problematic). I'm also peri-menopausal, so keen to keep my protein intake high. What are your thoughts about whether it's possible to be a healthy vegan with these restrictions? I'd love to hear your top tips and advice on being a fat free vegan!

Sorry, if you need to maintain some nutrition via those routes, why not just stay veggie instead of vegan?

regarding low fat, just don’t add additional oils? A lot of vegan food is low fat anyway.
it’s when you start eating veggie food I.e. cheese etc that the fat content rises?

but if you’re perimenopausal you should rethink whether being vegan is best for you right now? Maybe veggie diet will aid you through this stage?

That is the whole principle of https://www.forksoverknives.com . They made a movie on Netflix ages ago and have a lot of recipes on their website.
Eating a lot of soya will help you in the menopause phase. There are plenty of proteins in beans, lentils, chickpeas, and of course as mentioned, soya, so tofu and tempeh.

Lots of vegan protein sources are low fat. Air fried tofu, beans, lentils, brown bread etc. Air fryers are your friend!
