Vegan is everywhere which is great but what about gluten free?

I’ve seen greggs do vegan, even Krispy Kreme a now do vegan doughnuts.. it frustrates me that these companies don’t care about gluten free. The excuse was always because of contamination but surely making it dairy and egg free is the same?

Worst thing is I’m gluten free due to celiac and egg free and most vegan things have wheat in.

This is just a rant Angry

I've never bought anything other than a standard beefburger and chips type thing in McDonald's, and have no idea what a veggie burger there is like, so I just went with the info I had available to me.

Because your message was immediately after the poster raising cross contamination as they use the same fryers as the breaded veggie burgers and you said the fryer didn't matter. It does

The veggie dippers are gluten free so there is no cross contamination. Therefore it doesn't matter in this particular case. This isn't hard Grin.

I'm gluten intolerant and vegan. It is much easier than it used to be but there are a lot of new products coming on to the market that are full of wheat. I don't think there is anything in the Aldi vegan range that is also gf. Maybe a ready meal curry thing but not really anything else. Everything is always coated in breadcrumbs or full of wheat. Its a cheap filler.

I do feel sorry for those that don't need either gf or are veggie as opposed to vegan and I can see that your options may have been limited now. I'm vegan by choice and even I don't want vegan cheese on things Grin

My dh is a meat eater but lactose intolerant, he is very ill if he has even the slightest bit dairy. But he often has to have the gf vg option because thats all that's available. Shop bought pizzas being the main one. He can have the Kirstys pepperoni pizza which obviously has meat but is gf, and he doesn't need gf. Just dairy free.
