Semi-serious title Grin there's a limit to how much tofu I can stomach, so what are the best alternatives? I'm struggling slightly with breakfasts in particular, as am trying to be low carb/sugar AND low calorie AND vegan. I like a challenge!

Thanks Grin

I've also done BIWI's boot camp before and she is indeed a Star.

I've got a recipe book " the carb conscious vegetarian" which has some good low carb recipes and ideas. It is vegan, despite the title but is American so some of the ingredients are a bit tricky to get over here but you can usually substitute.

Have a look at a book called Go Lean Vegan - this is a slightly higher protein vegan diet and using more non starchy veg / salad instead of rice/ pasta etc

I mash avocado with chilli powder and salt and pepper or use hummus as a dip. You can add stuff to the hummus if you make your own, to make it less repetitive.

I've also been using Puriton hemp vegan protein shakes, which are nice.

Not sure how helpful this is as avocados are an acquired taste!

It depends on your blood type IMHO and E ! If you're an O you'll find it harder to go on a vegan diet than an A Type who are fine on it. Dr. Peter D'Adamo who is he author of the Blood Type diet research, suggests that B12 is taken in supplements by non meat and fish etc. eaters.

I eat carbs but not wheat , there are plenty of other carbs that are healthier like whole rice, pure rye bread, ryvitas etc. If eaten in moderation (like everything !). You have to check the labels of course.
I have a smoothie for breakfast with seasonal fresh organic fruit, ground linseeds, ground almonds for creaminess and a whole lemon and half good juice, half filtered water I make enough for 2 days. It 's beautifully filling, the lemon is wonderful for vitamin C content. It stops my gums from bleeding etc. !

NOo idea if they are low-carb but definitely vegan, GF, and high in protein: I sprinkle quinoa flakes on my cereal!

Quinoa flakes are a great substitute for mash too because I don't eat potatoes Stilyaga They cook so fast.
