Where can our kids paddle safely in a stream/river in the matlock area? They will be supervised at all times of course!

Thanks in advance.

How old are your DCs?

Plenty of paddling goes on in lovely Dovedale - by the stepping stones.

2nd Dovedale, lovely place for a picnic and paddle and there always used to be a sectioned of dammed area of the river where you could swim too.

Last year we spent a glorious sunny afternoon in the cascade at Chatsworth. Took swimming costumes for the dc so they could clamber in the fountains - and you can get strawberries and champagne al fresco too. Highly recommended.

Sorry, forgot to add, there's a river running through the grounds too where you can swim and picnic on the banks.

Yeah, I would second what ProfYaffle said. Chatsworth is glorious in the sun. You don't have to pay admission to the grounds if you find the right car park. You just pay the parking fee and can swim and picnic. The reason I asked your DC's ages was because Matlock Hall Ley's Park has an open air paddling pool, but they would be too old for that.
