Hi, yes we have been kids were 2 and 5 they loved it, constant things for them to do.

You can relax eat you dinner while there is play areas right next to you in mostly all places.

The lodges are namazing such good value, we would def go back.

Go for the new style woodland lodges. Have to take your own rubbish out but much nicer as they are newly done. Been there twice now with 2 children, both at the age of 2 and loved it. Relaxing and stress free.

we were considering June but I cannot believe the prices and thats just for the accomodation

we are centerparc fans, went twice last yr when DS was just turned 2. Due to go again v soon.

It's a great holiday IMO, we do some activities and also the spa session each time. We go swimming, ten pin bowling, bike rides round the forrest with DS in the trailer attached to his daddies bike. We tend to make our own sandwiches/salads for lunch and then eat out in the evenings. DS sleeps slightly longer at lunch that he would at home, but we take his buggy for evening walks as little legs get tired with all the excercise.

It's a good holiday for families with children. Can be expensive, I expect, if you buy everything you need on site. We take most essentials with us.

i know june can be exp, thats why i am more keen to go in May, fingers crosssed, hope the weather will be kind to us..i only worrid that there may not be much for a 17months old, she will be 18mths by then but a friend said there are still plenty little ones like her age...i love swimming n we go swimming every sunday so i am very keen to give CP a try, i mean, when u hv a child , you changed, you just want her to be happy cos if she not, i would find it hard to enjoy.

watching with interest as just thinking of booking for July. Had been looking at Longleat and other more southern ones but can't remember which ones are supposed to be better for little ones. DC3 and 4 will be 3 3/4 and 18 months so any views on which would be best.

dizzydixies · 01/05/2010 14:26

Dd1 has 3 days off school in June which was why was considering going then, can't do May unfortunately

Ewemoo · 02/05/2010 15:46

Does anyone know if the woodland lodges at Longleat have washing machines?

I love centre parcs, but hated lake district, sorry. Much prefered Sherwood. At the lakes all the restaurants etc were all under a big dome, which we found was freezing in the winter, boiling in the summer - prefered sherwood's set up. Also thought the idea of sailing/kayaking on a manmade lake in the middle of the lake district was a little pointless.

Although we don't have any children yet (first due in July), we went with our friends and their little boy (1.5 at the time), everything was set up really well for him - creche thing was great, we dropped him off there and went to the spa for afternoon, and helps to have a ball pool to distract a bored toddler when you go out for dinner!

Also loved that you didn't have to worry about other diners huffing and puffing if he made a bit of noise, such a family friendly place.

we've been twice and loved it (got a 31/2 yr old and 10m old), definitely get a new style woodland lodge not a comfort lodge. Get on their email list they send out really good deals about 3-4 weeks ahead if you can book at that short notice. Restaurants / take-aways not great, would do your own cooking - the shop there's ok, but I would take a cool-bag with my own meat / fish.

Don't forget the lakeland CP wasn't theirs originally, it was called Oasis - can't remember which holiday company set it up but that's why it's not the same as the others.
