Friends of mine stayed there last September and we visited them for a day. They had a fabulous week there and their kids (3.5 and 1.5 at the time) had a ball.

It's mainly a goat farm but there are horses, ponies and loads of chickens too. My daughter still talks about collecting eggs from the henhouse and watching the baby goats being born during our visit.

It is probably about 20 minutes drive to Drayton Manor but it does feel like you are in proper countryside.

My friends got on very well with the farmer and his wife and were even offered to stay 2 extra nights for free as it was the end of the season!

It was our first visit to a Featherdown Farm and we were inspired to book a week for ourselves this year

Are the tents close to one another?

no, not really - they are in a couple of different fields but not really close together, probably a few metres between them.

IIRC our friends tent was in a little field at the end of a row of 3 or 4 tents but they were well spaced out.

oh there are two reviews on Tripadvisor about Osbaston House and both are positive. And we are booked to go there midweek just after August Bank Holiday, can't wait!

I will have a 7 and 4 yr and we went to one last yr when they were 6 and 3 and loved it and both can't wait to do it again.

I don't think age or inclination matters, my 7yo is normally very indoorsy and spends hours on the PC but they sooooo love the freedom to run around outside exploring and theres no age limit for that!

When are you going nappyzone?

nappyzoneloveslindor · 17/04/2010 11:25

We were looking at end first weekend in August butnow dh is jibbing because or 3yr old really does react croupy wise when the fields are cut round here.

Check with the Farmer when this happens, and what kind of crops they have. August may be too early, think harvest starts a bit later?

nappyzoneloveslindor · 17/04/2010 19:42

good plan
