Norfolk...

Trying to plan a short (4 nights probably plenty!) stay in the Summer holidays with the boys (they will be 2.5 and 6m), my Mum and MIL!
Norfolk seems best destination as it isn't too far and has nice beaches. We would like somewhere with some stuff on-site, playground etc but within eay reach of a nice beach and town - if it was within walking distance then even better.
Suggestions please?

Norfolk is lovely, if a little breezy, but then I'm biased as it's home!

North Norfolk is lovely and the beaches gorgeous. Kelling campsite is meant to be nice, although a couple of miles inland. The other one that I like is Well-next-the-Sea. The campsite is next to the beach and there's a little town, and also convenient for the bright lights (!?) of Holt.

I'm assuming you want to camp (although totally understand why that might not be an appealing prospect!!)- otherwise, there are lots of holiday cottages up there (especially Wells, Blakney, Cley). If you are posh, you could look at Burnham market. The Hoste Arms is lovely, and the same people own several other places in the village, including a couple of b and b's (we are off to one for three nights as our honeymoon in June...!)

Have fun and pack and anorak!

I have never really found Norfolk that breezy, just lovely. Wells next the sea is our favourite, we usually stay there in a cottage about 5 mins walk from the town

We stayed here a couple of years ago with DS1 -- we were in a caravan but they have a camping field too. It's a lovely site with a playground and swimming pool, walking distance to a lovely clifftop cafe and playground, and you can walk down to the beach from the site, or Cromer/Sheringham etc are an easy drive away.

Thanks Meg, def not up for tenting it I'm afraid - shall have a look at this.
Bluebell, have looked at Kelling Heath (?) did indeed look gorgeous but was a bit pricey for what we're looking for unfortunately.

cranmer cottages are very good - although you may have to book for 1 week during summer hols. Its a drive to the coast but is near to wells and burnham mkt. Lovely places, swimming pool etc on site.

Crap at links but if you google they come straight up

forgot to say - we went a couple fo years ago and the firends we went with have been back numerous times and facilities ahve been improved ect - its not a cheap option - but I do think you get what you pay for....

we went to haven seashore near gt yarmouth last year and dd age 4 loved it, which meant we were happy it has all the things you mention in the OP - would def recommend.

Haven seashore is very good as is Wild Duck at Belton, we live in Norfolk yet still take our dd's there for cheap weekends away from home as the entertainment and swimming make it worthwhile.

We go to Searles at Hunstanton every year. Our son with ASD loves it as does our daughter. They have a wide range of accomodation and the beach, town, fair etc are all in walking distance.

blondie - Ivy Farm is very good. It has a very relaxed and old-fashioned feel to it. There is a children's play area and an outdoor swimming pool, no clubhouse or anything. It's run by a family, who are lovely. It's literally a five minute walk down to a lovely beach, and the village of Overstrand has a few shops and cafe and pub. I'd say it was an ideal destination, as it's in walking distance of Cromer, which has more shops/amusements etc if you fancy that for a change.

Ivy Farm hires out static vans and converted barns, but I don't think they're doing camping any more.
