Holiday in Suffolk

I want to go away for a week in the summer to Suffolk. We went for a weekend last year and it was lovely and not too far from home.
I have 2 DC who will be nearly 4 and nearly 2.
I want self catering with 2 bedrooms, a walk to the beach (doesn't need to be on the beach).I was thinking about Walberswick? I think that's where we went for the day and it was lovely.
I want to spend less than 500 pounds (sorry lost the pound sign on my keyboard!)
Does anyone have any fantastic suggestions?
Thanks

Aldeburgh is lovely - we have been there for the last two summers with our DCs also now nearly 4 and 2! It's a very pretty little seaside town full of lovely shops and delis and cafes and with gorgeous pebble beach - or go a mile or so up coast to Thorpeness for something which is a bit more sandy. It can be expensive though to find houses - especially in high season - but maybe in June you might get lucky and find something for 500 ish. It's such a great location for a holiday though as you have everything you could possibly need in Aldeburgh and then tons of stuff to do in the surrounding area. Southwold is another option and is really lovely cos it has sandy beaches - I have not been there for more than just a day trip but it was really nice ...

I would say Southwold rather than Aldeburgh, as Southwold has sandy beaches, whereas it is all pebbles/shingle at Aldeburgh. Both have several places for eating out though, and walks along the seafront.

Wallberswick lovely, as is Southwold. I agree with somuchtobits that they would be better than Aldeburgh because of beaches etc.

We had a break there once by booking through a company called 'Suffolk Cottage Holidays' (original name!)

Southwold is lovely for a family holiday, the sandy beaches make it a better option than Aldeburgh ( but well worth a trip to Aldeburgh).

Southwold has the beaches, lovely pier, shops and cafes and feels like going back in time.

Enjoy. xxxxxxx

Meant to say look at www.suffolk-secrets.co.uk

I feel very rude for not coming back to this and thanking people. I booked a cottage in Southwold for a week at the end of August for just under £500 through suffolk-secrets.co.uk.
So thanks everyone!
