Center Parcs Elveden

We have never been to CP and have booked Elveden at the end of August. As I understand it, we will need to prebook many activities for the children - ages 4, nearly 3 & 16 months.

Can anyone suggest what we should pre-book? Or anything else we should know before we get there? Looking at other threads, taking our own dry foods, tea-towels and washing-up liquid are all definites.

Shops there were quite dear when we went, go into Thetford (about 7 miles away) there's a big Sainsbury or Tesco so you can get your own groceries. Not been for a while but book up as early as possible - when we went we missed out on a few things as others got in first. Next time we sent people to book as soon as we got there while others unpacked. If you want a nice day out, try High Lodge in Thetford Forest. Lots of play areas as you walk around the forest.

Thanks Cezzy. Are there any particular children's activities worth pre-booking?

at under 4, I am betting your children will mainly be happy with the pool and the massive adventure playgrounds. There is also a nice soft play place near the sports bar and an indoor adventure playground by the country club restaurant (which you can use without eating IYSWIM)

dd ages 4 loved the bowling or "rolling" as she calls it, but we've never had to book too far in advance. Also nice at elvedon is the miniature golf course on a little island on the lake. Again, we just booked on the day. I personally have found a lot of the other activities on the expensive side and not that great. But I guess it depends on your budget.

Am jealous now, wish we were going this year

At that age I really wouldnt bother booking activities, the pool, the woods, parks etc will be plenty. Unless you want a bit of adult time then you could book them into one of the childrens clubs. Its only now my daughter is 10 she has started wanting to do climbing etc. I would save your money !
