we have 2 kids, pre-school age and this is the last opportunity we'll have for going away on hols out of season. i've been working and saving and we want to splash out a bit but want value for money (if that's possible ). it'll be a week's holiday, so need to have lots of possible things to do...

any recommendations / experiences of the above hotels, or other recommendations?

tia

Haven't been to the other two, but have been to Fowey twice and loved both times. Fowey is lovely. Beaches nearby. The hotel is roomy and relaxed. Warm pool. Yum food. Would go there again tomorrow.

Interestingly though, the couple who managed it years ago, now have their own place in Cornwall called The Rosevine (www.rosevine.co.uk) and it's wonderful. We went for a weekend break last year. They've just sent an offer through the post but it's for out of school holidays, which you could do, and I can't! I presume it will be on their website. (It is pricey, so it's probably more of a treat place).

the rosevine looks amazing!!! have sent an enquiry - no pricier than fowey hall. but we are taking advantage of out-of-season prices.

thanks for the tip!

it is amazing! you literally walk to the bottom of the garden and down a little lane for 1 minute and there is the beach! You can then walk up onto the coast path and even little legs can make it into Porscatho villzge for a wander. Then a bit further afield is St Mawes, which has boat trips etc.

The rooms have microwave, fridge, sink etc, so if the little ones just want cereal for breakfast it's dead easy, I then ordered a full english and had it brought up and ate with them!

Big playroom/sitting room with toys and telly, so you can carry on eating lunch in dining room, and they can go across the corridor and play happily......

.... can you tell I want to go back!!

Bedruthan is good for children of school age. The children's clubs are very good, and run in the evenings during peak periods, until about 10 pm. This enables you to have dinner with dh knowing that the children are having fun. They also run clubs for babies and toddlers at night so no more angsting over whether it is safe to use hotel baby listening or hiring an unknown baby sitter.
