Centerparcs accommodation

If I can get over the hideous price hikes for half-term, we're considering it for Feb.

Just had a look at the web-site for Elveden Forest and the prices for the differnt types of accommodation aren't what I was expecting.

If we leave out the "new executive style" cos that won't be happening, they are in order (most expensive first and all for 2 bedrooms, sleep 4) )

-New Style Woodland Lodge
-Original Style Executive

When I wold have expected the reverse. What am I missiong and which would you go for?

try looking at CP abroad - we went 18 months ago to belgium much cheaper, gaave us a discount because one member of the partry under 5 and then another discount because one member over 60, and we got early bird booking discount - even with ferry and fuel costs it worked out apprx 400 quid cheaper for an equivelent week in uk HOWEVER euro was truely pathetic agianst pound at tiem so might not be so good now!

Rene I am really that I suggested you ring them. I doon't know you but that made me that you have saved the money.

We stayed in one of the new style woodland lodges last year. Clean, nice, well appointed and modern. Not sure i'd go to centre parks again mind you but would be happy to stay in a similar lodge anywhere else

I've just been looking at booking CP for a week at the beginning of July. Was originally looking at Longleat one but seems that is really big. Anyone been to both that one and the one in Suffolk and if so, which would you recommend for DCs 3 and 4 aged 3 and 17 months?

Longleat is lovely but Elveden is much easier for young children as it's so flat. Also, my DS loves the fact that large fighter jets fly over all day long!!

We used come back soon offer after this years holiday for next years - we used different dates, different villa and different village - and we could use it. You get the bect price and free cancellation insurance.

Though with come back soon you do need to spot when they change the price... then call them. Suspect they rely on a certain percentage of people not spotting that the price changes.

Been many years since I've been to Elveden, so can't really compare it to Longleat now. Elveden is more centrally laid out, so distance from villa to swimming pool will be shorter than some parts of Longleat.

littledawley, not sure if DC would be fussed about the fighter jets but I'm sure DH would be

mumofsatan I really wouldn't recommend Longleat with little ones. We went last year with dd (6) and she couldn't ride her bike at all it was too hilly and everything was either a long walk or train ride away. At Elevden everything is walkable, even if you are in the furthest apartments. Having said that the scenery is beautiful at Longleat.

We are working our way round the villages seeing which ones we like, Sherwood this year, Longleat next. Am thinking of Elveden after that. DS will love the train at Longleat, does it run all over the village?

LandTrain at Longleat travels along the major road route. It does not travel much through Pine area but from Plaza goes through Ash, a bit of Pine, through Fir, down the hill to Oak and through Maple. On the Longleat Map (PDF) the route is marked by the black/grey dashed road.

It isn't a train like a steam train exactly - though some of the engines are shaped to look like a train.

Pfft you can add Bedford (or whatever they will call it) to your list after Elveden, as that may be open by then.

Oh, should add... a trip on the 'train' all the way around takes just under 40 minutes. There are 12 stops in total. I've been known to sit on the train and travel the entire route with a sleepy child who didn't want to go to sleep - he did drift to sleep on the way round!

Oh I forgot about the new one. Thanks for those pictures. DS will want to go round and round on the train all day!

Nope, no promo codes. They provide special offers to everyone, so you could Signup for Offers or keep checking Special Offers.

Sherwood has an offer on Midweek, 12 Apr, 2 Bed Comfort and Weekend 16 Apr 3 bed comfort. Still quite costly though.

Think that promo codes are now used mostly for Corporate discount schemes and people rebooking within 28 days of visiting.
