DH and DS1 would like to do this. Anyone done it?

Any tips to make it a great experience? Or anyone any made mistakes they want to share?

Thanks

Never done it but my tip would be to go in April or May before the midges are out - they will EAT YOU ALIVE!

Thanks all for the advice. DH and his db and ds1 have decided to go in the April break next year.

In return for letting him go off with no dd's i get a week away anywhere of my choice with my best pal.

I fancy somewhere hot so off to see what i can find lol.

Thanks, nutty! Yes, that's a big help.

DS is a chunky lad and I do need something relatively comfortable to carry him.

Good way to get in shape, too .

Oh, I agree, KBear, I would deffo go in May to avoid the midgies.

Better tell the midges they are not meant to be out in May, because they don't seem to know that here , I have 5/6 lovely bites all on one foor and another crop on the opposite knee, because I was silly enough to wear open sandals in may in my garden.

I live not far from WHW and it's only in the past couple of days midgies have started to come out, so I'd say first half a May.

Can't get away with wearing open shoes here pretty much any time of year because it's either raining or the ground is still sodden.
