My husband, 16 mth old and me are going to Whinfell, Center Parks in May (not half term) and I was hoping for advice and opinions about it before we go.

I have had all the pre book info through and did not know whether I needed to book things in advance. Do I need to pre book restaurants or do you think there will be lots of availability?

Any tips would be useful.

Also, my 16 month old had outgrown her travel got (she is very long) and I don't know whether it is apprpriate to put her in a bed with side things or whether there was another appropriate suggestion. I know Center Parks has cots as standard. Does anyone know if these are travel cots/small cots or cot beds?

Haven't been to Whinfell, but have been to some others.

I have never needed to prebook restaurant, although if you are very keen to try one particular one then it might be worth it. Otherwise, I would wander round a few to see if they have availability. I tended to self cater, with an occasional meal out.

I think most activities, spa's beauty treatments need to be pre booked.

Not sure about the cot. It might be worth ringing to check.

yes you should definately pre-book activities.

restaurants should be ok just for the three of you (though i've failed to get in when there were 8 adults).

Hi custartd1.

I've been to Whinfell a few times. The cots are proper cots but are on the small side - ds managed to climb out easily last time we went (he was 23 months) but 6 months ago he was fine in one.

I've never prebooked a restaurant there except when we wanted to go to Hucks for dd's birthday & there were 8 of us. We booked on the day and there are online booking stations all around the place now.

If there are any activites you really want to do then I'd prebook them but if you're not bothered then you could see what availability there is when you are there. Some are discounted if you book on site. Definitely prebook the time out club if you are using it though. A lot of the activities aren't great value for money TBH and ours have always been happiest in the pool or pottling around on bikes etc. There are some good soft plays and outdoor play areas.
