Restaurants at Centreparcs - is it necessary to book?

We don't plan to eat at a restaurant every day, but I wondered whether is it necessary to book or does it depend on the time of day/how many in the party/the particular restaurant?
BTW we are going to Elvedon.
Thanks.

we've never booked but have only gone jan or feb time

WEve just got back from Sherwood Forest but went to Elevdon last year, we go every Feb.

If you want to eat at a specific time then yes I would book - they take a £1 per head booking fee now as so many people just were turning up.

IF youre quite easy as to say having a drink in the bar whilst you wait for a table (kids can play in play areas) then no.

We didnt book Hucks on the first night but got a table within 25 mins, the next time we did pre-book as our DS looked shattered during the day so knew he would be restless, so booked had a great meal then got home early enough to put him to bed.

I must pre-warn you though, although you may not be too bothered, but this is the first time I have really been shocked at the prices, - £6.70 for large glass of pinot in the Sports Bar and £17 a bottle, £3.60 a pint. Also food in most of the restuarants seemed quite hiked up on last year.

We ate out but sometimes took a sandwiche to the pool in the day time.

Have a fabulous time! I want to go back!!!

The prices have definately increased this year at Elvedon. We didn't book the resteraunts, but we eat early so it was not busy. We avoided Hucks - their food is aweful. We ate and Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge. We used clubcard vouchers both times so paid nothing.

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments - those prices are shocking aren't they?
I think probably I will plan to take more food than I was intending to and just eat out maybe once or twice.
We are going early March and will try to eat early as DD is just 2 years old.
It is our first visit to any of the Centreparcs villages and we are really looking forward to it.
Thanks for the reminder about the clubcard vouchers - I'll certainly exchange mine.

Dont be put off I must admit although some of the prices were really over hiked we still had a great time. CAfe Rouge is lovely, and we also found Hucks great - the kids had their own buffet with hot food such as pasta, fish, chicken and veg and a fresh platter of salad aswell as the good old chicken nuggets and chips if they wanted it.

The adult meals were also great - fresh and hot - we couldnt fault it. I had Cajun Salmon Salad one night and hubby had a huge rack of ribs!!
