I havent actually been to ferryside but lots of places nearby!

Kidwelly is just up the road with an attractive castle (beside a housing estate bizarrely)

Llanelli is one of my favourite places - millenium coastal park, long walks along coast.
Wildfowl and wetlands trust - birds you cant fail to spot!
Pembrey country park - beach (very long walk to the sea as very flat beach) playground, dryski slope horseriding picnic spaces

Swansea has some fab parks and museums - Ds would gladly tell you how much he loved the Egyptian museum in Swansea (small but fab!)

Oh Ferryside is beautiful - i live in Swansea, and have been to Ferryside lots. The beach is great, and when the tide is out you can walk all the way over to Llansteffan where there's a castle. There's not a great deal to do in Ferryide, but it's good if you want to get into the great outdoors.

Kidwelly, not far away is nice - spent many a happy summers day running round the castle as a youngster, and funnily enough, it was there before the housing estate

Not far away from Ferryside (about 45 mins drive) are Oakwood theme park and Folly Farm. Folly farm is great - real farm animals that you can get up close to, a little bit of a zoo, lots of play areas, great for littlies, and even if it's raining theres loads to do there as theres lots undercover. Oakwood is good too, if you've got older children or teens, lots of fast rides and it is a really good day out - take waterproofs or a change of clothes though as there are several water based rides, and although there are fans to dry you off, you don't want to be walking round wet all day.

If you want shopping ect, Carmathern and Llanelli are good, but Swansea is bigger and offers more choice. Theres loads to do in Swansea too, if you're coming here for the day - lots of museums and we have a fab sparkly new leisure centre which is good on a wet afternoon.

I love living here as there's always so much to do, and i like having the choice of city/country.

Anything else i can help you with just give me a shout!
