can't commute from devon tho. I havent even been back since i left 8 yrs ago. !!

With pram, buses are fine (though they have a two pram limit, so if your bus is already full of prams you'll have to wait). The tube is reliant on other people to help you, which they will - I just hate having to plan for people to help you.

It's a bit of a trek from Euston to Harrods tbh.
Depends on how long you take getting there and back, and how far you usually walk in a day!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 08/12/2008 23:49

Carnaby street lights are always brilliant.

I agree Pillow, especially around this time of year when people are out for themselves. It's always surprising who will help you though, that mean looking suit, or the punky looking man, so sweet when they offer.

Nappy you will have a great day, check out the websites, make a plan of how you will get there and enjoy it all.

When I took dd1 to Harrods there was a nanny who had been taking her Arabian princess charge (toddler dressed from head to toe in Armani) everyday, from the beginning to Christmas eve. We didn't book time slots then either, just waited and waited. You will have a fun day out with your little son.

Owww MincePirate, no you can't commute from Devon. Where did you live in London?

nappyaddict · 09/12/2008 00:19

Is it one all day travelcard to use on both the tube and bus?

Nappyaddict yes just the one ticket.

fortyplus · 09/12/2008 00:50

Find a bus that goes up Regent St and sit on the top deck to ooh and ah at the lights.

Oyster card

The Oyster card is a form of electronic ticketing used on public transport services within the Greater London area.

From site:

Pay as you go has several advantages over paper tickets:

Oyster single fares are generally cheaper.
Credit can be used as you need it and doesn't expire.
Daily price capping automatically calculates the cheapest fare for all the journeys you make in a single day.
Our aim is to ensure that Oyster always charges the lowest fare. Where it doesn't, we will refund the difference.

Might be an idea to look at that option.

nappyaddict · 09/12/2008 13:09

How much are oyster cards?

OP posts:
PerkinWarbeck · 09/12/2008 13:12

£3 deposit for oyster

PerkinWarbeck · 09/12/2008 13:14

if I'm in London with the buggy I only use the bus. lots of options here

nappyaddict · 09/12/2008 13:18

what do you mean deposit? how do you get the money back? couldn't get the link to work.

PerkinWarbeck · 09/12/2008 13:32

you get the oyster card at Euston, and it costs £3. But IIRC if you want to return it after your trip, you take it back to the ticket office and you get your £3 back. the link was to the journey planner. You can get the no 10 bus from Euston to Harrods for the total of 90p each way!
