Who's stayed in a cottage on the Northumberland coast?

Trying to rearrange my summer holiday and my usual venue is already full for the whole holiday. So, looking for somewhere new!
Requirements are: walking distance to beach; at least 3 beds/6 people; somewhere for the children to play outside; err that's it. Cheaper the better really.
Favourite spots are Low newton/embleton bay, dunstan steads; sugar sands.

I know the area well, I'm really looking for specific cottage recommendations. I've found a few possibilities but would like to hear 'from the horses mouth'....

Try Sykes Cottages.
We stayed in lively one which had a circular living room - tihnk ti was an old farm building.

Oh you have good taste! My parents had one of the 'shacks' at Newton and I spent all my childhood holidays there. My mum still lives in Northumberlsand and we stayed in a downstairs flat (half of a big house)on the front at Alnmouth about 2 years ago which was quite nice, but it was the location that was nicest. I can ask her for details if you like.I know my mum has an eye on a lighthouse keepers cottage somewhere near - I'll get back to you!

legacy - I think the round living room cottage is part of the same complex we've been to the past two years (link house farm). Great spot, but they are booked solid for the summer now.
lucky lady any insiders tips welcome!
i haven't spent much time at alnmouth, it strikes me as a bit busy. There are a couple of options at low newton but while I love the place, I wonder about actually staying in the thick of it.

Outchester and Ross cottages near Lindisfarne - we've stayed at the Outchester ones which are really nice, well laid out, small children's playground too, but not really walkable to coast; the Ross ones are by the sea. We also stay on Lindisfarne itself Eider Duck cottage is great but it books up really early - the island is fab, especially when the causeway closes!

We have done loads of times! Stayed with Coastal Retreats.

Unfortunately, they are expensive but amazing. We have already booked for next year.

Have used same website for several cottage holidays in UK and France and never bee disappointed.

I've also used Coastal Retreats and would thoroughly recommend.
