Family room for 5 - do they exist?

Now that ds2 is 2 he counts as a child, not a baby, and we no longer fit into a Travelodge or Travel Inn family room. I don't really want to split into 2 rooms, although it looks like we might have to, unless anybody can come up with a solution.

Need somewhere between Liverpool and Bolton for one night in a couple of weekends' time.

Marriott usual doubles are two double beds and you could ask for a put up bed aswell

Not sure if there is one in Liverpool but there is in manchester

We stayed in a family room in Altrincham with two double beds and a set of bunk beds.

ready bed on the floor? we did with 2yr old in a double room.

The question is more whether the place will allow us to do that. Looking at the website for travel inn, they don't ask for children's ages, so I could book a room for 2 adults, 2 children and a baby in a cot. There are 2 year olds out there who still sleep in cots, aren't there?

there are. the only reason ds was in a ready bed was he was too long for a travel cot! if its a travel lodge/inn, they're rooms are quite roomy (iyswim) so i can't see a problem.

You can get family rooms - often in older, independent places.

Have you done youth hostels purpleturtle? We stay in them loads and they tend to be more flexible about numbers, and it works well when children are older.

If you use Tesco vouchers they are fantastic value too.

Having said that I don't think there's anything 'between Liverpool and Bolton' except the YHA in Manchester itself (nr Deansgate Station).

We stayed there last week for two nights and it cost £125 in total for the four of us, including massive serve-yourself-breakfast, at which my boys ate and embarrassingly huge amount of food!

They have mostly 4-bed rooms there but do have a couple of 5-bed rooms.

You may find that if you stay in a "posh" hotel they dont actually care how many you have in the room. They just want get breakfast unless you pay. Ask around, we have stayed in a few hotels now that sleep four and they have been more than happy to let our youngest (3) sleep in the room to.
good luck

Have gone with the travel inn as it's cheap and in the right place. DH and I are in Liverpool for a day, DC will be with my sister and BIL in Bolton, then we all need to be in Liverpool the next day - so we're looking for somewhere BIL can deliver kids to on Sat evening! All a bit complicated, but I think this'll work out.

I imagine all 3 children will share a double bed and the cot won't actually be used at all, but I don't suppose anyone'll check.

Thanks for the YHA suggestion, Roisin. Don't think it would be practical this time, but may have to bear it in mind now we're leaving the baby stage behind.
