I need to travel from Wellingborough Northamptonshire, up to Easington, Cleveland (TS13)

want to leave any time from 6/7pm on Friday and be back here by the same sort of time on the Saturday - (this coming weekend!). I only intend to be in Easington 1/2hr - 1hr so a quick turn around is fine.

Cheap would be good, but not too fussy, and don't mind spending most of that 24hrs travelling............

I've been searching to no avail, keep going round in circles, and websites keep crashing on me.

Could do it in a day for £79.70 by train, plus £8 bus fare.

Outward journey: Saturday 16 August 2008
WELLINGBOROUGH 07:16
YORK 10:16 10:34
DURHAM 11:17

Return journey: Saturday 16 August 2008
DURHAM 14:38
CHESTERFIELD 16:34 16:40
LEICESTER 17:28 17:35
WELLINGBOROUGH 18:06

At Durham, you'd have 6 minute walk to Millburngate Stand A bus stop, catch the Arriva North East/243 Bus towards Hartlepool.

Get off that at Peterlee Shotton Road (A19 Flyover) E/B and get on the Arriva North East/213 bus towards Sunderland (city centre)at get off in Easington village.

Can get an Arriva go Anywhere ticket for £8 for the day, if I have read the website correctly.

There are later trains coming back, if you think that would be cutting it too fine.

will this link work?

How long would it take to drive?
Do you have a friend who could help you out for petrol money and a slap up meal at a Little Chef?

FAQ · 11/08/2008 14:59

couple of hours to drive, unfortunately only friend that drives that isn't away on holiday is busy with her DD4's birthday party on Saturday.

Why are there so many?! It's madness in the North East!

FAQ · 11/08/2008 15:11

lol I know it's mad - that wasn't helping me search either, it's Easington Redcar and Saltburn (I think) - just past Loftus....

FAQ · 11/08/2008 16:35

well thank you for all your help - I texted them to tell them I'd be there just before 12, they didn't respond so I gave them a quick ring to be told

"you're too late they were sent at 2pm" - thankfully I hadn't yet paid for the tickets so havent' lost anything except for my afternoon (and your time too)

TAke deep breathes, take a big step back and let yourself calm down. Seems like some cooling off needs to happen all around.

Are they usually okay or are they often not-understanding/difficult/a bit toxic?

missblythe · 11/08/2008 18:23

OMG how annoying!

Although, they obviously realised how idiotic they were being, and so posted them again.

At least you'll have your Saturday to do nice things instead of investigating bus and train stations in the North East.

FAQ · 11/08/2008 18:55

yes very annoying to say the least.

Instead of finishing off what I wanted to say to them in person, I've had to send them a reply to their 2nd email from last night.

Still at least as you say I have Saturday to do something else.......like a car boot sale once I get round to ringing the scary church warden to see if he'll give me a lift there with all the clobber I want to sell.......
