Didnt really know where to put this thread, so chose this as its about beaches. probably wrong place but this has bugged me for years so if you can help i'd be grateful. When i was a little girl i went to the coast with my parents and cousins. It was on the southeastcoast, probably kent.we played in a replica castle (grey stone i recall)that was quite big and had a dungeon and everything. Next to it was a sand pit. It was right on the coast and overlooked the sea. Not on a hill but flat and near the coastline.i loved that castle.Always wanted to go back but my mum said i dreamt it. I didnt. Ive been to most places in kent with my kids and always hoped i'd find it again but never have. Even my cousins dont remember it. Has anyone else been there??? did i dream it???!?!?!?

hi, yes it could be peter pans playground, the castle looks right just dont remember all that around it but guess it changed between that picture and the 70's. Did you go there when the castle was there, did it have a dungeon?

Loriycs - by posting on the thread, it "bumps" it back to the top of its category or the top of Active Conversations. If you haven't got anything to say, then often people just write "bump".

was it that Fort Fun place in eastbourne? We used to go there in the 70's as children, think it has changed its name since then, but it was on the beach.

soz if anyone has suggested that already.

forevercleaning · 06/08/2008 12:58

It is called fort fun now and is completely different nowadays with fairground type rides by the look of the website, but when we went there is had a fort, loads of climibing stuff, you played sort of pirate games, there was sand, swings slides etc and we used to go in there all afternoon.

Wonder if that was it, my parents have photos of us there, so will have to have a dig about and see what i can find next time I see them!

forevercleaning · 06/08/2008 13:04

now i have just found treasure island, so it could have been that! Very confused now!

Loriycs · 06/08/2008 17:48

OP posts:
minesawhoppa · 06/08/2008 18:15

yes, was that the one you were thinking of loriycs?

forevercleaning · 06/08/2008 18:25

treasure island is on the seafront too, near fort fun

Loriycs · 19/08/2008 18:20

maybe?? im gonna have to check these all out. I did go to eastbourne a few years back and recall a fun fort type thing just outside eastbourne, and it wasnt the one i remember as a child, but whether that was fort fun or treasure island i have no idea. i think im going to check out worthing first it sounds like it could be it. i really would like to see some 70's pictures of worthing peter pan park if anyone has any?
