absolutely no chance.

It depends what kind of holiday you want to have. I think it would be fine personally and wouldn't have a problem going without children.

There's lots of activities to do during the day (pony trek, wall climbing, archery, golf, paint balling etc)and the spa if you want to chill out there. Plus you can eat later in the evening in the restaurants without worrying about time and babysitters etc.

You don't even have to venture into the pool if you don't want to. But after about 6pm it's pretty quiet in there. Last time we went (which i did have my ds with me) we were the only onesin the main pool at one point at around 8pm as everyone else was on the rapid river ride thing.

Don't knock it till you tried it.

i was about to post 'not in a hundred million years' and then remembered i had been for a girly fortieth. Wine, food, spa and bed.
it was ok - but if you don't do spas my original answer suffices.

MsDemeanor · 10/07/2008 09:46

No. I'd be a bijou boutique hotel and NO SELF CATERING.

ICantFindAFreeNickName · 15/07/2008 11:35

Me & my mates all used to go together before we had kids. We lived all over the U.K and Centre Parcs was an easy way for us all to get together without all trying to stay in one persons house. If you are each paying just for one adult it's also not too expensive. Mind you it was in the days before they tightened up security, and we often had 12 adults in a 4 bedroomed villa! Theres lots of different activities & the spa, so you can each be as active or as lazy as you like. We each took lots of food, booze, videos & board games and just chilled out in the villa each night. We had some great holidays.
However now I have children, if I had a chance to go away without them I would not want to go anywhere that was likely to be full of children.

We have just come back from center parcs yestersday but we went as a family. There were groups of girls there, probably on hen weekends.

I would go on a hen weekend yes and I would imagine it would be good fun. We went for 1 week and to be honest it was too much and we got bored. If it was just for a weekend then yes it would be fun. There would probably be alot of kids around though but if your ok with that then it's fine. It could get expensive though as last week I paid £25 for the spa in the evening and for a 3 hour slot in the day it's £35 do depends how often you would use the spa, also alot of activities are expensive too.

iBundle · 15/07/2008 13:57

I have got kids and wouldn't (willingly) go again

for the price you could do a boutique hotel for the 2 of you and get family to look after your kids

andiem · 15/07/2008 14:03

wouldn't go again with or without kids was overpriced crap

muggglewump · 15/07/2008 14:10

No because I don't like children other than my own and I don't like spas either or swimming come to think of it
I'd rather go somewhere with no kids even if I had my own with me but wouldn't as I see the advantage of OPK's to entertain mine while I get some peace

Tortington · 15/07/2008 14:10

no.

woulnt' go anyway. - theres something 'brave new world' about the whole thing

I am thinking of booking a family weekend for my parents golden wedding anniversary. Do you think a couple of 70 year olds would like it?

SparklyPrincess · 13/08/2008 16:49

Fimbo ... short answer: probably not

But then I'm with andiem on the whole thing. Can't believe how much they charge for mediocre accommodation, all the activities are also really expensive and I wasn't particularly impressed with the restaurants either - average food, above average prices

To the OP, I don't think I'd go with a group of adults, there must be soo many better things to be doing. Unless there's a particular activity you're going for, as you say, its probably the spa. I did an evening spa at Aqua Sana which was quite fun but it would get a bit old if you were there for too long!

CountessDracula · 13/08/2008 16:51

I do have a child and I wouldn't go

It looks like Butlins but not as much fun tbh

no way

SammyC · 13/08/2008 17:01

No way, noticed a bunch of girls cringing in a restaurant we were in on our last visit. They were all kid free and surrounded by everyones elses kids............not my idea of relaxing at all!

If you kept to villa and spa not a prob, do not venture out of these 2 areas is my suggestion!

The spa ia amazing and can get bubbly there so no need to venture else where...........

mumto2andnomore · 13/08/2008 17:57

Just me and dh, no, but as a group it would be fun. I cant understand why people slag CP off so much, especially those who havent even been , you dont know what you are missing ! With children its fab, they love it and if they are happy Im happy.

"why people slag CP off so much, especially those who havent even been" But where's the fun if we can only comment on things we know personally? I haven't been, I wouldn't go. Can I slag it off? It's still a considered opinion
