I am wondering what it is like. We are booking either tomorrow or floowing day for a week beg July. I am wondering........
Is there enough to do on site without paying extra for activities? Probably spend most of the days at swimming pool and bike riding.

We are staying for a week, will we get bored?

What is there to do off site?

Thanks

yes there is enough to do on site

no you wont get bored as long as you like cycling and swimming!

don't know about off site as its in a forest. You could go plane spotting by the american airbase!!!

How about food shopping? Is it best to take things with you?

What else would I need to take?

There is a Sainsburys at Brandon which is quite near I think. It is best to take food coz the shop is quite expensive. We've only ever been friday to Monday and we took preprepared meals which we just reheated. Like shepherds pie. You used to be able to preorder an essentials pack to be there when you arrived with bread and milk etc. I havent been for ages so this may have changed.

I was there last year and we loved it. There is plenty to do on site. My dd always wanted to swim, she loved it. I would take supplies with you. The shop is quite good but we couldn't seem to find what we were looking for.

Yes I saw they did an essentials pack but want to keep the cost down as much as poss. I guess I can take a big cool bag with food etc in.

I am guessing it's ok to take our own bikes? Would I be able to hire a trailor for the kids? Does anyone know how much they are? Would I need to take a buggy (DD nearly 2)

great place! Loads to do. Yes, take some supplies as we found shop a bit limited.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/06/2008 19:47

There's not a huge amount to do in the local area without travelling, but I don't think you'll have problems occupying the children for a week. There is a 'go ape' centre not far away.
I live about 30 mins from the Parc, I have a friend that works there so go with him when we can.
There are supermarkets in Thetford and Brandon, both about 10mins drive, or others that you'll go near on your way there, depending which way you'll be travelling.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/06/2008 19:48

Yes you can take your own bikes, yes you can hire a trailer. I'd want a pushchair if you weren't putting dd in the bike trailer because it can be a fair walk from villa to centre

Thanks everyone.

Can I ask, has anyone used clubcard vouchers for the restaurants there? Do they accept them?

How about the activities you pay extra for? I want to limit this, have 2 DD's, nearly 2 and 5yrs old.

I thought with the pushchair thing that we would use bikes most of the time either with a child seat I have or a hired trailor so maybe wouldn't need buggy? Also will 5yr old DD who has just learnt to ride without stabilisers manage to ride all this way?

Have a great time. I really like it there.

If you're thinkign of using the timeout clubs - they are brilliant.

Onlyaphase · 25/06/2008 21:22

I went there last year and it was fine, and there would be enough to do without booking lots of extra activities as long as it doesn't rain. Lots of cycling and swimming and walking anyway. And the supermarket there looked fine to me as well, lots of nice stuff, though I second the idea of taking a cool bag with the basics in.

The only thing stopping me booking again is that the gardens at the villas aren't fenced off, and DD would just sprint off now into the forest. Until it is socially acceptable to tether toddlers, I will have to give Centerparcs a miss.
