5 hours in London with an 11 year old

We're bringing our 11 year old dgs to London this weekend to see The Cursed Child while it's still in two parts.

After breakfast on Sunday we have about 5 hours before our train home.
He's done all the usual stuff on school trips and past visits with us.

I'm planning on going to King's Cross for Platform 9 3/4 but other than that I'm open to ideas. I wondered about Science Museum or Greenwich and also Battersea Power Station but there's a wine event on there this weekend so it may be more crowded than usual.

Thank you

It's looking like gorgeous weather on Sunday so i'd go for something outside. Picnic and boats in Regents or Hyde park? Boat trip on the Thames (could go from central London to Greenwich, have a wander around the Greenwich markets and back again)

What’s he interested in?

If architecture - a deep dive into the Barbican, inside and out.

If he’s a foodie - Borough Market and lunch at Oma? (Or elsewhere if too late to book there.) Then a stroll along the river. You may already have done Tate Modern with him but it’s there if you haven’t.

Greenwich by Thames Clipper and the Maritime museum or the Royal Observatory. Remember you will need to reserve 2 of those 5 hours for travelling within London and lunch.

The park is nice. Painted hall (prob not of interest to 11 year old). Paul Rhodes bakery for coffees and pastries, Greenwich market street food or there’s lots of restaurants near there. Sail loft Greenwich is a nice riverside pub which does food. You can also walk to Blackheath (huge common park area) through Greenwich park maybe fly a kite there. Nearby Deptford has street art and is urban.

Is your return train from King's Cross?

Westminster pier is main pier from central London to Greenwich. Takes half an hour. Fairly regular boats. You can get drinks and snacks on board.
