Center Parcs - Whinfell - any good? Facilities for an 18 monthd old DS

Gonna book up to go to Center Parcs, Whinfell for 4 nights in september with husband, DS (will be 18 months by then) and the inlaws. Is it any good? What the restaurants like? What are the 2 Bed Comfort Lodges like? Are there any soft play facilities for my little one? Should I stay in Foresters Lane or Badger Wood Accommodation?

Sorry so many questions but first holiday with DS and very apprehensive. Also, it's quite dear so want to make sure it's nice.

Hi I've been a few times to this one and I love it. We are going again in October.

We have taken dd when she was 20 months (and younger) and found plenty to do. The pool is great and has a lovely childrens section with buckets and watering cans etc to play with and also some gentle slides for little ones.

The lodges are great we have been in the 4 bed comfort plus ones a few times and they have great facilities. Dishwashers, dvd players stereo etc. (safety gates too on the stairs which is handy!)

There are softplay areas - one in the sports bar by the squash court area and one in the Lakeland pub too. There is also a thing where they have lots of toys, ride-ons, ball pools etc set up on a tennis court in the sports building during the morning (you have to pay a couple of pounds for this but it was well worth it if it is wet as we were there for a few hours)
I don't know where Badgers lane is but i have stayed on Foresters and it was lovely. We weren't bothered about being really close to the centre though so we prefer being out in the threee oaks bit personnally.

Hi
I went earlier this year and my two loved it. The pool is great. We stayed in Foresters which is lovely on the edge with lovely woods behind. restaurants Ok, loved the indian, got mum in law to sit that night. We mainly ate in. I've just got code for Septmeber for discounts its SUN8CP, try that

Just back from Whinfell. Had great time despite the weather. I too, got special offer through the website CPWEB. Stayed in Meadow View but we were all on bikes so no problem to get around. Badger wood is nearer to the sports plaza as well as village center. If you use Tesco clubcard save your vouchers and convert to rest vouchers and you will be able to use in Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge. Lots of ducks and squirrels around for your little one to enjoy. Soft play good and they are converting the place at Sports Plaza at present so should be all new when you go. 3 starbucks there now!

Thanks everyone - sounded great so have just gone online and booked up - used your code jovigir and got 30% off - cant believe the discount - that's totally fab - have booked a Exec 2 bed Villa (2 storey)- hope this is nice. I liked the fact that you got towels included and ensuite - we might take my parents along so, if so, ensuites would be good. Soft play areas sond great - can u hire tricycles? Also, is toilet roll provided?

Yes toilet roll is provided!!! Exec villas are lovely, we used to stay on foresters in 3 bed 2 storey villa.

Yes you can hire bikes, bikes with trailers (which would be good for your 18 month old) you can hire a trike if your in-laws are a bit wobbly on a bike! You can also hire an electric scooter!

Whinfell is hilly compared to sherwood and elveden but you can get round. There is no shame in dismounting from your cycle to walk as I have been known to do
