Museums in London for children

Will be going to London for two nights with 11yo ds. Thinking about visiting one of the museums.

Can anyone recommend which one they think is best for children that age.

I’m thinking either the science museum or the natural history museum as he loves dinosaurs. He also loves all things space related though so really torn.

Any advice or tips greatly appreciated.

NHM will be rammed during school holidays. You can turn up on the day and queue or book a free ticket in advance for entry at a certain time. But there's no availability until Monday 6 April, and only afternoon slots left.

@Lemondrizzle13 That’s a pretty slow line in though. It’s a branch of the District and not very frequent trains. Can you not just get a train and stay more centrally near a station and choice of underground lines? You are west really at Wimbledon (well SW!) but that’s a long way from The Tower or Greeenwich. Why not go from your nearest station? Hotels with parking are hard to find and will be some way out. Where would a train take you to? You don’t need a car in London.

There are frequent trains from Wimbledon to Waterloo and the journey is 15 minutes.
The District Line is a bit slow, but it's useful, because it goes to the City and also Kensington/Edgware Road.

There's also the Northern Line from South Wimbledon, which is less than 10 minutes walk from the Antoinette Hotel.
