Hotel near Southampton Airport

Arriving at Southampton cruise port and have an overnight stay before flying home from Southampton airport the next day and looking for a decent hotel near the airport as it’s an early flight.
As I don’t know the Southampton at all so any recommendations would be helpful ?

There’s a premier inn there. Tbh though the airport is about 15min drive from the city centre so you’d have more options staying there instead.

Definitely the closest. Alternatively book into the Voco next to the cruise terminals and get a taxi or train from Central to Airport.

There’s a Premier Inn at the Airport. Southampton Airport Parkway is actually in Eastleigh and there’s a Holiday Inn and Travelodge there which would be a five / ten minute taxi to the airport in the morning.
You could also stay in one of the hotels near the cruise terminal. There’s several nearby and then get a taxi to from Central Station in the morning. It’s a six minute train ride.

Can you walk from the premier inn at the airport or do you still need a taxi ?

Premier Inn. We use it all the time for work overnights. Never had an issue and we have staff there at least 2 nights a week.

Yes it’s literally on the road where the airport is. And it’s a super tiny airport - you’ll zoom though security so don’t panic about leaving loads of time

If you want eating options in the evening, go for a city centre hotel near the cruise port. The premier inn near the airport is super convenient but there’s not much else there. Taxi, train, or bus between the two.

@onceagainforrose This was my main hesitation for the Premier Inn as will be there during the day and night and thought wouldn’t be much to do ?

If you can walk to the airport, you can walk to the railway station and pop into main Southampton or nicer but quieter Romsey.
The station is less than 200 steps from the airport.

If you’re there for day / night I’d agree with @onceagainforroseand stay in the centre. There’s a lot of hotels around there, lots of eating options in Watermark / West Quay / city centre restaurants and you could have a walk around the medieval walls. There’s also a couple of museums or the John Hansard Gallery in the centre. Think the City Art Gallery is closed until March. Easy to taxi / train or bus (the U1A is direct to the airport) from town. Southampton Airport is basically a bus stop so you’ll be through security quickly. It’s tiny.
Premier Inn is on the same road as the airport, as is the train station. You’d need to bus into Portswood or taxi to Eastleigh for eating options.
The Southampton Harbour Hotel (nearish the Southampton City Centre) at Ocean Village has a spa so that would be a nice way to while away the afternoon.

There is a small Pig hotel in Southampton that looks lovely.

I fly into Southampton every month and stay locally.
Premier Inn at the airport - walking distance, only option to eat is in the premier inn, noisy.
I stay instead at the Holiday Inn, Eastleigh. It's a £6-8 Uber ride away. You've then got a 10 min walk which has lots of eating options in/on way to Eastleigh town centre. The Holiday Inn is also often cheaper, has nice pool and gym etc.
The premier inn at Eastleigh is awfully noisy, the Travel Lodge even noisier and seemingly the meeting point for every naer' do well in Hampshire.
