UK beach holiday

Hello!

Can anyone help me find what I'm looking for - I'm looking for a three bed self catering accommodation within short walking distance to a beach, probably no more than four hours' drive from Hertfordshire. Ideally it would be nice to also have a fish and chips shop within walking distance too!

Don't necessarily need entertainment etc on site and would prefer something quieter as one of my children is autistic and struggles with noise/lots of people. Kids are 7, 6 and 3.

Budget £2-2.5k for summer holidays - 4 nights is fine but flexible on that - is it possible?!

I'd look around South Wales, specifically Gower areas. Beaches are much quieter than Cornwall for instance.

Wells Next the Sea, Norfolk. The beaches in North Norfolk are huge and it is easy to avoid crowds.
Tenby, South Wales.

Gorleston on sea beach is lovely, has a splash park on the beach and a park on the road looking out to sea. It was really quiet when we went end of August.

Also 5 mins drive from Great Yarmouth if you do want a bit of entertainment and loads of zoo type places in suffolk/norfolk for days out (which are much cheaper than Hertfordshire!)

Southwold or Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
Aldeburgh Beach is huge you’ll find a quiet bit. They’re fairly close so you can visit both.

Wells car park can get very very full. You’d need to get there early or walk the long road from the village.

Ideally looking for somewhere we can walk to a beach on and off throughout the day and avoid having to do the whole pack up the car and spend the whole day there type thing. I'll have a look through all these suggestions, thank you!

Saundersfoot or Tenby would fit the bill. Saundersfoot in particular has lots of accommodation close to the beach with lots of attractions nearby, Folly Farm and Heatherton.

Southwold would be great.

Lyme Regis is fully walkable once you're there and has enough for a few days.

These are all right on the beach and gorgeous

Swanage and the Isle of Wight are both good options for beach holidays with small children.

Mundesley, Norfolk.

Lovely sandy beach. Fish and chips, crazy golf, play park, greengrocers, butchers, couple of shops .

Isle of Wight? Sounds exactly what you are looking for.

At a similar age we took our kids to the north bay in Scarborough- important that it’s the north bay! It’s lovely and quiet and we hired a 2-storey beach hut right on the beach. Had a fully functioning kitchen in it so we didn’t have sand in our picnic.

Thank you for all these suggestions, really enjoyed looking into them! We have booked a mini 3 night break to the Isle of Wight in March as it does seem to tick a lot of boxes and isn't a million miles away (plus I think the kids will love the ferry!)

I do want to explore Wales more. I am actually Welsh and spent many holidays in south West Wales, but at the moment it is a teeny bit far for me to drive it alone with the kids.
