Suggestions for north Norfolk, August

I'm looking for suggestions for 1 adult, in Norfolk next summer. The person will be on a training course for 1 week which is based near Cromer. However they could potentially go up a couple of days ahead of the course and do some sight seeing. What's best to enjoy in this area ?

We had relatives who live in Wells next the Sea, which is near Cromer, and we always enjoy seal watching at Blakeney Point

Will they have a car or be dependent on local buses and walking? It is not an easy area to get around without a car, though there are some coast-hopper buses.

Walking and beaches are the biggest activities around there. Seal-watching boat trips from Blakeney are fun, and there is an amazing amount of bird life to see around the Holkham Estate, on the salt marshes around Burnham Overy Staithe, and the RSPB reserve at Titchwell.

Holkham Hall is a huge stately home with gardens, and a bit further afield, Houghton Hall is another rather smaller stately home with beautiful gardens, and every year they have sculptures/art installations by a different artist in and around the house, plus some permanent pieces in the garden.

Sandringham is also within striking distance if you are into royal stuff.

There are also lots of pretty villages and small towns full of cafes and craft shops and so on for pottering in: Wells, Holt, Burnham Market etc.

Any of the villages along the coast. Though it will be really busy in August and might be hard to get accommodation just for a few nights rather than a week. Hotels and pubs either rooms might be the best bet.

Sheringham, Blakeney, Wells would all be good places to stay .

The ferry to see the seals goes from Morston, not Blakeney.

Felbrigg Hall and Blickling are interesting NT properties.

All good things to consider (as my only knowledge of the area comes from the Ruth Galloway books..)
