Can anyone help to recommend an area / hotel / itinerary recommendation. Couple plus 6 year old - 1st time visitors to London. 3 night stay arriving on Eurostar in April.

Many thanks!

What things do you like to do, and what is your budget for accommodation ?

Immediate things that spring to mind with a child. Open top bus trip to see the main sights and get your bearings. Science museum and the natural history museum. River boat trip. Matinee performance of a show.

Thanks. Would say mid budget. Want to see all the major landmark London sights and agree hop on / off bus with river cruise to Greenwich is a good idea. Also theatre trip. Which area would you stay in that has decent family restaurants and close to theatreland and hop on bus route?

thanks

Premier Inn near Kings Cross/ Euston has family rooms and is opposite tube station and on bus route to theatres (about 15 minutes).

If it’s your first time in London with a 6-year-old, I’d stay somewhere central like Covent Garden, Southbank, or South Kensington super easy to get around. Hotels like Premier Inn County Hall or Park Plaza Westminster Bridge have family rooms and are close to attractions. You can check out fun stuff like the London Eye, Tower of London, Natural History Museum, and Hyde Park. Grab an Oyster card for easy travel and try to book tickets for big sights in advance. Being central makes it easy to walk around and enjoy the city without rushing.

Thank you both!

Snap @michaelsmith9! I came back to suggest Premier Inn at County Hall - fantastic location.

I don’t have little children now, but I always stay in South Kensington, next to the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park and the number 9 bus route! Easy walk to Gloucester Rd tube, South Kensington or High Street Kensington. Museums too.

Citymapper is a great app for all your travel arrangements, walking, bus, tube, taxi , the lot. . You can plan your routes in advance to help you decide where it’s best to stay.

Second County Hall, they do family rooms and not too pricey if you book far enough in advance. Great location

We had a lovely (huge) family room in Marriott South Kensington & close to Natural History / Science museum. Also easy to get to theatres etc

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I’ll definitely check out Citymapper for planning routes, seems like it’ll make getting around a lot easier. Appreciate the tips!
