CentreParcs in Nottingham - will Tesco deliver?

We're going to CP in a couple of weeks. As we're short on space in our car, I don't want to fill it up with food shopping. I had thought about Tesco.com but was worried that CP wont let them deliver to us.
Anyone done this and have any problems?

I am pretty sure they won't be able to deliver CP will want you to buy from the supermarket on site

higgys · 30/05/2008 12:36

That's what my husband says. But I can't be bothered dragging the kids round the supermarket while I'm on holiday and its bound to be more £££

But I would be really peed off if I spent a lod of £ on food and they couldn't deliver it.
Just wanted to know if anyone has ever done it.

it is a tad more expensive but not as bad as you would think.
and they have mini trollys which my ds loves to push round to help shop.
My DP works as a coorprate accounts manager there and he said there is no way they will let tesco in they are quite strict about who comes in when I go in for the day to take ds we have to get forms signed by head office bosses even though they know who we are.

ChippyMinton · 30/05/2008 12:41

fisrt step would be to see if tesco will let you set up a shopping order for the centerparcs address?

higgys · 30/05/2008 12:49

Just checked on Tesco.com and it wont let me set up and alternative address for CP as its a business address.

I'd be inclined to cram stuff into the car - maybe heavy/expensive stuff, because you'll be able to drive up to your villa with it.

wheresthehamster · 30/05/2008 12:56

Why would you have to drag the DCs round? They will be in the pool with you while DH does the shopping.

If you buy over a certain amount (£40?) they'll deliver to your villa so you don't have to lug it yourself. Never really found it that expensive

PinkChick · 30/05/2008 12:57

ive been to Cp laods of times and dont find the parc market that expensive AT ALL!..you buy what you need, not a weekly shop

higgys · 30/05/2008 13:00

Thanks - probably going to have to do that. Now I have to go to supermarket this weekend, dunno when I'm going to have time for that -not even washed all the clothes we are taking yet.

Leave shopping to my husband!! We'll end up with chocs, sweets and beer!

Mind you I'd probably buy tons of stuff I don't need if I went down the Tesco.com route. More difficult to judge how much space it will take up when you're not loading it into a trolley.

all you'll need is cereal, bread/bagels or other, butter..something to put in sandwhichs and if you are not eating out, then something for dinner for the nights you're there..you'll also need some washing up liquid and loo/kitchen rolls, but i take all this with me (small containers for w.u.l)

higgys · 30/05/2008 13:06

We're going with my inlaws so need to add lots of beer and wine to your list!!

OP posts:
PinkChick · 30/05/2008 13:09

well in that case invest in some hceapy plastic pint / wine glasses, you only get little glasses in the lodges! we buy the ones we can chuck after use.

higgys · 30/05/2008 13:14

Good tip - not sure how I'm going to persuade DH I need to take wine glasses though! He started complaining when i suggested we needed to take a suitcase.

OP posts:
PinkChick · 30/05/2008 13:16

just take pint glasses then and drink more wine

higgys · 30/05/2008 13:22

I like the way you think!

LOL, i love ceterparcs am envious!..hopefully weather will be nice and you can have a bbq on your terrace

JudgeNutmeg · 30/05/2008 20:38

Judgenutmeg's patented CP packing tips:

Pack enough for eight days including every possible combo of wet and dry weather gear. take extra-large towels. Add contents of your kitchen cupboards, slowcooker, hand blender and sandwich toaster. Take extra pillows and a special neck cusion for lounging in the bath. Pack more towels just in case. Take dvd player, laptops, board games, swingball and trivial pursuit. Draw up a meal plan, take homemade frozen meals in cool box and pack corkscrews and bottle-openers in each suitcase in case one gets lost. Pile everything into huge pull-along suitcases. Stand back, laugh in semi-hysterical fashion.

Tip out suitcases, grab spare swimming cossie and spare fleece, toothbrush and phone-charger. Don't bother with anything else. Go on holiday. Sorted.
