Play stops near M5, M6 and M74

Any recommendations for stops near the M5, M6 and M74 for decent coffee, food and play options? We'd usually stop at Stafford, Tebay and Cairn Lodge services, but my kids have outgrown them. My 7yo really needs to stretch his legs on such a long journey, so anywhere with an adventure playground and a trail walk with a café would be ideal. I don't mind stopping for an hour or two, but travel time from the motorway wouldn't need to be included in this.

I did find this thread, but would love some options for further south and Scotland too.

Where are you starting from and going to?
I can give you info about places around Bristol but if you're starting further up then it would be irrelevant.

Not going past Bristol this time, but we do travel down the M5 to South Devon fairly regularly. Since the services are appalling, I'd really appreciate any tips for future journeys.

The only decent option on the M5 is Gloucester which is the same people as Tebay. They have one both North and South bound.

There's the usual walking route around the services, outdoor areas for dogs, and they have a field at one (I think it's northbound but I could be wrong!) which I've pottered round before.

When mine were younger we used to stop at Brockholes nature reserve just off the M6 near Preston, less than 5 mins, it has a play area and nice cafe (but ££ and charge for parking). It was a few years ago but we always liked it there. Maybe look up recent reviews.

Tatton park in Knutsford
Brockholes near Preston
In Carlisle there's a nice park by the castle and river.
Haigh Country park on the outskirts of Wigan.
Lymm Dam walk but i'm not sure about a play area.

Worcester Woods and Country Park is just off the M5. Closest to Junction 7 Worcester South. A woodland trail, cafe, toilets and a decent playground for that age group. WR5 2LG is the postcode

Sandwell Valley country park off the M5 Birmingham area. Big playground, big lake/pond to walk around and even some paid activities high ropes, and farm area. We dont live nearby but have used it as a stop for long journeys.
