Day out with 3-8yos near Birmingham

A friend and I are planning a family day out. Our children range from 3-8yo. We live about 2.5h drive from each other, with Birmingham in the middle. We thought it'd be nice to try and find something in or around Birmingham for the meet up. It'll be mid-September so outdoors should be possible (although obviously I would make a backup plan 😅). In case it makes a difference, one of us is to the SW and the other is to the NE of Birmingham. I have done quite a bit of googling but it never lives up to a real recommendation. Any ideas??

Habberley Trail or West Midlands safari park? Both are nearer Kidderminster than Birmingham though.

Could you do Lego in central Birmingham?

Sea life and Lego combi ticket (they are right next door to each other).
Black Country museum
Cadbury World
Drayton Manor Park in Tamworth
Slightly further south but just off the motorway Warwick Castle

Black Country Museum, hands down.

Also Cosford aeroplane museum.

Another vote for the Black country museum. And I love Cadburyworld and the Severn Valley Railway which is a little further out

I'd go to the Nature Centre (Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park). It is in Edgbaston, about 2 miles SW of the City Centre. Big car park (Pay and display) next door.

Superb value for money - much, much cheaper than the Safari Park, and (now you can't feed the animals, and can only drive through once, the safari park isn't getting great reviews.
If you don't fill all the time there (unlikely, you can spend a good few hours there, and can take in a picnic, or the cafe isn't too pricey) it is right on the edge of Cannon Hill Park which has things like pedalos, crazy golf , and a lovely Arts Centre (The MAC) where you could easily spend another hour or so if you wanted, even just walking around.
