Gatwick airport parking to drop elderly parents off

My parents are flying to Glasgow on Sunday for a coach holiday, originally they were going by train to the airport as it’s a straight journey but there’s now changes etc so I’m going to drive.

To be honest they’re absolutely useless at navigating anything, so I feel like I should park the car and make sure they get to the easyJet checking desk because they’ll just wander around. Anyone know whether I am better to park in short stay or take the long stay option and get 2hrs parking free at long stay.

I’m assuming the long stay is like stanstead where you just pick up a shuttle bus that takes you to the terminal and probably shorter walking distance than the short stay car park as my father also has a bad hip and no he won’t entertain special assistance

Long stay is a bit of a way out at Gatwick. I would go short stay and pay the parking but it’s pretty £££. You could just drop off at drop off point at departures and they’ll find their way easily. There’s always staff milling about who will point them to easyJet but it’s well sign posted.

Park in short stay. Drop off fees are extortionate.EJ uses North terminal and you can walk easily into the terminal building.

do they have blue badges? Some airports give you longer for the same money or have disabled drop off parking where you can walk them in.

Do they have hold luggage? If not, they don't need to go to a check in desk, they just need to go straight to security.

Have they checked in online and have their boarding passes, either printed or on their phones? If not, it will cost far more to get boarding passes at the airport.

Have they flown recently and are they up to speed with security requirements etc? Have they got ID even though it's an internal flight? Apologies if all they above sounds obvious but their apparent inability to walk into a building and follow clear signposts suggests there may be other hurdles to trip them up.
