My daughter and her friend are looking for a couple nights away somewhere with nature/maybe coastal and a decent “young” nightlife. Not necessarily clubs but a few bars or pubs with similar age. Any ideas? Anywhere in Uk other than Cornwall (saving for another time)

Bath is a brilliant city- not too big, good for low key shopping, feels safe, lots of restaurants and bars. I don’t live there but love visiting!

You can get cheap flights to Cork. It is belting.

Kerry is much nicer , flights cheap also , surrounded by coastal area’s, & Killarney a really good spot to go out & stay in ..

I live in Whitley Bay and love my area. I go into Tynemouth every weekend for the market at the station (I also used to have a stall there and worked in a restaurant as a chef in Tynemouth)

It's starting to get to that pont in the summer now where you can't get parked and it's uncomfortably busy.

I'd happily recommend any time other than June / July / August unless you're happy with massive crowds.

DD used to live in Whitley Bay and I used to visit her frequently. I love Tynemouth market and have been several times. What kind of stall did you have?

Tynemouth; Seahouses; Salcombe; Brighton

Seahouses? Last time I was there the only nightlife was a couple of pubs, and even they were filled with mainly old men 😂

Cardiff! Fantastic vibe in the centre, good shopping, lots to see (Cardiff Castle and National Museum etc) and beautiful green spaces.
A short bus ride to Cardiff Bay where the bars and restaurants are all on the water, usually some music and events. Millennium centre in the Bay for concerts etc.

Eastbourne. I know it's got a fusty image but actually it is very nice and if they like good scenery and nice walks it is ideal. There is Beachy Head, Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters Country Park - all of which are lovely. A very nice pebbly beach and promenade and an open top, hop on hop off bus, (ticket can be used for 2 days and is, I think, £10) which visits the above sites (though maybe they have a car). They can still get access to Brighton for shopping, pubs, the Lanes etc, as there is a bus that runs directly there. From 12 July Chicago is on at the theatre there.
