Geeky 16 year olds in London

I'm working in London for 2 days and will be bringing 2 16 year olds to spend a couple of days. They've been to London a couple of times a year, but it's the first time they've had the days to themselves. They're not really interested in shopping etc. Although do like a good rummage in a charity shop, but not in the v expensive areas.

They want to go to the Hunterian Museum, any other similar places I can suggest to them? They're happy to get the tube and bus and explore.

What's your definition of "geeky"?

Minecraft experience in Canada Water is pretty good if they’re into gaming although probably aimed at younger kids

House of Mina Lima in Soho

Thanks for those. V&A East was a possible, we'll look at adding that to the list. The first option looks right up their street but looks like under 18s need to have an adult.

in terms of what they like, it's more at the goth, steampunk. Is there anywhere like Camden was in the 90s? We went back there a year ago and it felt like a very sanitised, corporate version of Camden.

was thinking about suggesting Hackney

Broadway market in Hackney is pretty cool. Often live music around. Camden is meh now, very touristy.

If they were feeling ready to travel "off the beaten track", they could get the tube to Brixton, have a wander round Brixton Market and Electric Avenue then get the bus to the Horniman Museum which is free (except the Aquarium and Butterfly House) and very quirky. https://www.horniman.ac.uk/story/a-day-at-the-horniman/ Also some good charity shops down Lordship Lane towards Goose Green and then a bus or train ride back into the centre, or maybe sample Peckham....
