Motorhome holiday - essentials!

Hiring a motorhome next week for a trip up to the Lake District with DH and two dogs. First time we have done this. We have sites booked with showers and electric hook up.

If you have done this before what are your essentials or things you wish you had thought to take with you? Trying to get organised and order shopping, make lists for packing etc...
Thanks!

Something to hang wet clothes/ towels on
Crocs or anything similar, ugly but so handy

For the dogs, those metal spiral things that you stake into grass for their leads.

Chairs for sitting out. Do you have an outside table? Sunshade for dogs. Their beds. Dog restraints for travelling and towels for drying them. Address of the nearest supermarket with a big car park. Route planning so you don’t clog up tiny narrow roads.

Been Moho owners for decades and see people going from carrying less than the bare essentials to loading up with "stuff" for every conceivable circumstance (and then some!).

Are you taking the MoHo home to load up or are you taking everything in the car and then going straight off?
I always suggest having a tryout on your driveway (even if it is just for a few hours) where you do everything that you will do when away and if you have forgotten something, you can pop inside to get it.
Park, level up, cook, eat, make drinks, wash up, shower, toilet, heating, load the fridge, are you drinking the on-board water or taking bottled, restrain Ddogs when travelling, make up the beds, watch TV, read, charge phones, imagine coming back from a long walk wet & tired (made worse with Ddogs!), feeding the Ddogs, where are they sleeping, be ready for them wanting to go out to the loo in the middle of a dark, wet night, are you going to be sitting outside, how will you keep the Ddogs on your pitch, BBQ, will you be regularly moving the MoHo or parking up for a few days and walking and/or using public transport, topping up with water, draining waste water, emptying toilet..........?

So many things to consider which eventually becomes second nature but can overwhelm the beginner and spoil the first couple of days until you get into your stride.
Have fun.😁

Cables for charging. If you've got an HDMI port, your Firestick or similar, so you can relax in the evenings and watch what you want if it's too cold/wet to be outside.
Heated blanket, if you have one, but then I'm eternally cold, gorgeous for snuggling up under after an active day/climbing mountains, hills.

Potato masher! We had to buy one in NZ, but have one in our camper here, that's assuming you'll be mashing potato, you may not...!

I would imagine the M/h will come with basic chairs/table for outside...check with the company you're hiring from, as you may want to take your own, as PPs have suggested.
Fly spray!
Your favourite tea/coffee mug and /or cafetiere, little things you like at home, you can forget you can take...as in , its not a weight regulated suitcase.

Bicycles- so you can pop to the shops without having to pack up your pitch every time.

Phone charging stuff bit of cash and a card what more do you need? I find people take far too much stuff then complain about how long it takes to set up.
