Those who know Oxford

Is it easy to get into the centre from here for a university open day? Frequent / cheap buses? How long to walk?
Hotels seem really expensive so I’m looking at Airbnb’s instead.

I've stayed in that part of Oxford and its really central and easy to get into the centre from there.

Thanks all for your help. I’ve found a nice looking Airbnb with parking, a bedroom and sofa bed in the living room, kitchen and bathroom for 2/3 price of the Banbury PI. We’re going to go for it 😀

it’s a 45 minute walk in to the maths dept so I think that’s what we’ll be doing.

I adore the Mathematical Institute and often drop into the cafe for lunch if I’m in that area of town.

@Birdh0use doh! We didn’t stay too far from there but didn’t go.

We’ll just have to hope that DS gets a place. Then we’ll have plenty of chance to give it a try!

It was for a university open day and DS is now knuckling down preparing for the admission test that he’ll need to take. It’s a little bit aspirational but if he doesn’t apply and try his hardest then it’s 100% certain that he won’t get a place!
