Taking kids to Scarborough tomorrow for couple of nights (2yo and 6yo). Any ideas? Been ages since went there. Thinking about maybe speedboat ride around the bay if weather okay but any insider knowledge?

North bay. Peasholm park is good for pedalo boats if feeling energetic. Small courses of crazy golf. Miniature train ride. Sea centre if raining.

South bay. Rock pools down from the Victorian gardens are perfect for a paddle and play while you have a cuppa if sunny. Build sand castles and moats in the sand.

Harbour area is quite nice for fish and chips and viewing boats. There’s an ice cream parlour. There is also a pirate ship that does short sea trips but unsure of the details.

The north bay is better than the south
peasholm park is lovely
north bay fishery opposite the park does great fish n chips
If you don’t mind a drive then Bridlington animal park is brilliant
Filey which also isn’t far is a lovely little seaside town to visit with a free kids paddling pool

All great ideas. Lots to do at Scarborough and Bridlington. It's often colder though so take warm clothes and a bobble to tie back long hair.

It is still cold, especially the wind on the sea front, so bring a coat. Peasholm park for pedal boats, and feeding the ducks. There's a fairy garden on the esplanade at the end furthest from the town centre. Best fish and chips are Mother Hubbards opposite the Lord Roseberry Wetherspoons in town. Best ice cream is the harbour bar in the sea front. Definitely go on the miniature railway on the north bay, station next to the open air theatre. Take the venicular (tram) up the steep cliff from the south beach to the town, very quick and cheap and saves the steep climb. Grind coffee shop on St Nicholas street is a great independent cafe that also sells locally made art and crafts.

The sea life centre is very interesting. The Victorian railway is great if you don't fancy a bit climb up the hill!!! The Italian garden is a lovely walk though (south bay)

North bay is lovely and quieter. South bay for amusements and arcades. Theres a great joke shop just off south bay which is always a big hit with my dc. Alpamare water park is great if it’s raining but a bit pricey, same with the sea life centre. A walk up to the castle perhaps? Ann Brontes grave is close by.
Loads to do in Scarborough rain or shine, we love it.
