hi trace. We did a weekend away the ither week, but it was to a very quiet caravan site who only use hoseasons as their bookin agent.

Have been to Haven (Primrose Valley) and to Center Parcs (Lake District) before though. Haven was OK, the pool etc were great for the kids, but the fruit machines everywhere made it really unpleasant and noisy, and the the caravans were packed in like sardines. Apparently the site at Marton Mere nr Blackpool is really nice though, my BIL and SIL have been there a few times.

CP was fab, but we went years ago when it had just been taken over from Oasis and they were doing really cheap deals. It's hideously over-priced if you go in the school holidays though.

How's Chloe and DS? have you heard about the gluten thing yet?

gawd trace....you need a diagnosis of some sort so you can start dealing with things. How is she doing generally? We miss you on the thread you know

maybe this summer holiday we can get a meet-up organised. We went to Wentworth Castle Gardens recently and it was lovely. Either there or the Sculpture Park as there's lots of open space for DS to run himself ragged in!

sorry about your Dad Trace. I hope it wasn't too serious.

We're all fine. DD is a minx, and is in to everything, DS being a very sensitive soul at the minute. Pregnancy is going well so far; I'm now 15 weeks and starting to bloom thankfully.

I hope you can find a good holiday, you guys really deserve a nice break

wishing your dad a speedy recovery.

and don't worrty about posting about you on the thread; it's what we're there for, to support each other and I know that we all want to know how chloe is getting on.

If it's quiet you want, the site we went to was just outside Barnard Castle in County Durham (can't remember the name, but it began with an E I think). It was the first year they had done hire vans and they were brand spanky new. the site is on different levels so each van wasn't too overlooked and we had a cracking view of the river. there was a wee shop, and also a pub/club which looked nice, but we never went in. There is a really nice children's playground as well. the town was only a ten minute walk away along a lovely riverbank path.

We did a hoseasons holiday at Easter (Welcome Family in Dawlish Warren). Stayed in a bungalow. Was excellent. Well equipped. Quite comfortable. Various small children playing out in the "square" late afternoon. Ds1 loved it. We did steer clear of the organised entertainment after trying lunch in the main venue (music way too loud even if our sons hadn't been with us; dark, low-ceiling expanse of mahogany tables with no windows; staff trying to cajole us to join in). Would go there again.

the one we went to was in Brixham, Devon. It was the smaller of the 2 they have there, little beaches nearby, indoor pool, outdoor play area. No big kids clubs or loud entertainment. They had the a guitarist, or a singer each night in the bar. They have chalets and caravans. We've been about 3 times now, we really like it there, great area for holiday. Near Torquay, Paignton Zoo, boat trips, sea life centre, bus trips along the coast, steam train to Dartmouth.

We've used them twice in the last year and they tend to be really good, obviously it depends on which park you choose as they act as agents for most parks.

We had a hot tub at the place we went to near York - twas divine

so yes go for it!
