Congestion charge challenge help

I have 2 congestion charge notices at £90 each in London, any advice on how to challenge them? I'm not from London and not aware of how to pay for congestion.

Please help

Haha killing someone's can't be compared

she wasn't comparing it for severity. Just that "I didn't know" isn't an excuse.

You don't even seem genuine, first you said you knew nothing about it, then claimed you thought it didn't apply at weekends...and also claimed not to know how to pay it, when the instructions would be on the PCN telling you how to pay...

I didn't post to be attacked. I was driving on a Sunday - I thought it was Monday-Friday

You haven't been attacked

I don't think anyone on here can be accused of attacking you, everyone has been very polite.

You first said you don't know London and pleaded ignorance about the CC. Further on, you admit you knew about it but didn't think it applied on Sunday. That is even less of a defence, unfortunately. It would take very little to check whether it applied on Sunday.

If you're going to be driving in London again, go to the TfL website and set up an online account for the Congestion charge. That way, the charge will automatically be paid when your car registration is recorded within the zone. Saves future fines.

Kindly OP, the 'London congestion charge' is a well known 'thing', probably as widely known as Harrods or Buckingham Palace.

Plus it's not hard to miss when you're there and if you really didn't know if you were supposed to pay or how to do it, you had about 3 days to find out afterwards before you would be fined. Just about everything in existence has a website where you can read the rules and make payments where necessary.

One time we went to London, I went online to book, stupidly I booked the day previous so got a fine, I rang them up to explain, basically was told hard luck, nothing they could do.

You don't have any grounds for challenge I'm afraid. Just pay quickly

You can thank the bastard mayor Genghis Khan for extending the congestion charge to weekends.

I love the congestion charge - it's made my life way better. It's so much easier to cycle into the centre of town than it was in the 90s, and the air is cleaner, too
