NO

Joash · 06/05/2008 13:16

Depends on where, when and who owns/runs it.

Beauregard · 06/05/2008 13:17

Any recommendations?

Only one, but I am biased anyway as DH is their maintenance manager .
I do think Holiday parks can be great i you have small children.

Oliveoil · 06/05/2008 13:19

well I am an unmitigated snob (despite my lowly background) and don't really like the people that go

lots of football shirts and squawking women

HOWEVER

we did a last minute thing once at Haven Greenacres and it was lovely - the caravan was huge, beach was a 2 min walk and the girls loved it

but we went into the amusement bit and it was a bit Trisha tbh

and the day after there were cig butts and glasses all over the childrens' play area

but if you avoid the masses, they are fine, we ate in our caravan and stayed on the beach all day

jingleyjen · 06/05/2008 13:22

depends,
somehow when they are abroad they don't seem as bad

Oliveoil · 06/05/2008 13:23

ha, it was though

girls loved it however as it had a play area and a shop with SWEETS in it

Monkey Tree in Cornwall. He loves his job and the majority of people who visit, but admits that they do get the occasional squawky women and football shirt brigade (generally in middle of august).
They're spending a lot of money on it over a 5 or 6 year period (about 2 years in now) and it's looking good. Loads of improvements happening.
Apparently, it didnt have a good repurtation with the previous owners, but is 'coming-into-it's-own' now.

I dont know what to do???
We want 7 days first week in July, self catering either in North Devon/cornwall near beach.Accomodation either nice caravan or lodge clean and comfortable with play area for dd's aged 6 and 2.
Is this unachievable?

They do fil up very quickly, might be as well to give them a ring. I do know that there's very little, if anything left for the first couple of weeks of the main holiday

Beauregard · 06/05/2008 13:36

Thanks ,will give them a ring later then.
