Hi, I will be going to Cornwall (South, St Austell area) next week for a week & looking for suggestions as to what to do bearing in mind it will be cold & many places may be shut.

I have a car so can travel a little, looking for things I can do alone or with my elderly mother who lives in Cornwall (limited mobility) So far I have the following:
Eden Project
Pottery Painting

Ideas welcome please

St Austell brewery tour is well worth a visit, all indoors and you get to sample their produce at the end!

A good pub lunch would be nice especially if its cold weather

Visit Fowey. It’s a lovely place to visit, with quaint little shops, beautiful views of the estuary , loads of places to eat. Take the Polruan ferry over to Polruan and have a wander round this beautiful village. There are two pubs and a few shops and the most fantastic views over to Fowey.

Lanhydrock House and gardens are worth a visit. The house is very interesting and you can see where the servants lived and slept.

Charlestown is also worth a visit. Perhaps a morning or an afternoon but maybe not a full day.

Looe is also worth a visit. Very pretty town on the coast.

Id give Polperro a miss though. Parking is mega expensive.

I love this area. Enjoy your time away.

Also, Fowey has a bus that goes from the car park down into town and back again. If your mum has limited mobility the bus would be much easier.

Lost gardens of Heligan. Lovely (although not suitable for your Mum).

We were in that exact area this week - Eden project was closed so best to check their website.

The hotel at Carlyon Bay has lovely sea views from the bar. Our lunch there was excellent. I would imagine that they probably do afternoon tea if that's your thing.

Heligan might not be suitable but Trelissick is, they hire our mobility scooters which you can book in advance
