We're about to go in holiday to Anglesey! I think we've exhausted most places to visit in Anglesey as we go every year. Does anyone know any hidden gems on the island that are worth a visit?
Also, we're keen to head into North Wales for a couple of days trips. Does anyone have any recommendations for walking routes or places to explore?

We are a family of 4 with kids age 11 and 14. Hoping you will know some gems!

Apologies if this is all old news to you!

The Dingle in Llangefni - nice forest walk out to a reservoir plus loads of red squirrels and they're quite tame.

Indy Climbing Wall near Brynsiencyn - bit pricey but my DC had a great session with an instructor.

Beaumaris Gaol is fantastic, really interesting for all ages.

Holyhead mountain (not a climb!) is a really nice walk which surprised me. Park at South Stack and head in the opposite direction. South Stack lighthouse there too of course.

A ribride out to Puffin Island from Beaumaris is brilliant. Again a bit pricey but so so good.

Beware if you're planning on heading down to Newborough as the car park was full by 10.30 on sunny days last week 😲.

Have a great time, I call Anglesey home despite living in the grotty midlands all my life 😂.

On Anglesey have you tried:
Parys Mountain (old copper mine with lunar type landscape)
The Dingle in Llangefni for a walk with possible red squirrels
The church in the sea near Aberffraw (and Aberffraw beach)
The Belgian promenade walk in Menai Bridge (past the ancient Tysilio's church and under the bridge)
Breakwater country park in Holyhead plus Holyhead mountain.
The secret beach at Penrhos country park (like a slice of the Caribbean)
Cadnant gardens
Aberlleinog castle - ancient motte & bailey
Penmon Priory and Penmon point
Melin Llynon - a working windmill
Giants Stepping Stones at Rhyddgaer
Anglesey Column in Llanfair PG is finally open (but you might need to book).
Cymyran beach to watch the planes at Valley.
Rhosneigr beach to watch the windsurfing.
Anglesey Alpacas
Cable Bay and walk to the burial chamber (pricey parking though)
Ynys y Fydlyn beach (worth the walk)
Llyn Parc Mawr woodlands (more red squirrels) and can walk all the way to Newborough beach/Llanddwyn through the pine forest.

Anglesey is great for walking - so many I haven't mentioned!

Treaddur bay is a hidden gem. You can hire canoes, Paddle boards. It’s got a lovely beach. It is my happy place.

There’s also Zip World and bounce below in Smowdonia.

Wow, I didn't expect so many great options. Thanks everyone, sounds like we're going to have a jam packed week!!
Excited to try the Dingle in Llangefni and the Llyn Peninsula. And keep meaning to find the Belgian Promenade Walk in Menai. Secret beach at Penrhos sounds amazing too. And we are always on the hunt for more stepping stones (my husband proposed mid stepping stones!) so thanks for the suggestion. You rock!! 😂

@Circle3 for the Belgian prom, there's a car park by the Chinese restaurant near Waitrose as you're heading for the bridge. Then just walk down through the woods. Red squirrels there too if you're lucky!

Just back from a few days on the Llyn Peninsular
We went to the Cafe on Llanbedrog beach, nice food I would say 4 stars, but the location is 5 stars.
Ty Coco Inn
Well its 5 starts even with the expensive beer!
A new place, we went to Trefor, small Village with a nice quiet beach, mix of sand and pebbles small harbour if you want Fish Chips and Bingo this isn't for you, Quiet and tranquil, road is tight with passing places, walk south from the car park and you will find the hidden Cafe

Another quiet place is Dinnas Dinlle, mixed beach one shop one cafe, loads of tranquility.
