Staying in st Agnes, suppose could be south Cornwall as well as not far to get that side. Going in Sept so hopefully calming down. No kids.

would like to go to Tintagel castle one day
st ives on the train another day

am in the national trust so any recommendations for NT stuff? Good dog friendly beaches, bonus points if rock pools.

nice places to eat?

is Newquay worth a visit? Falmouth?

I went to lost gardens of heligan years ago so not sure we’d go again.

South West Coast path? Anywhere around Port Isaac and Pentire Point. Camel Trail between Wadebridge and Padstow. Bodmin Moor. St Kew Farm cafe at the golf club. Pilchards Port Gaverne - outside. Walk to St Enodoc church.

Thank you. Camel trail looks nice from Padstow where it’s near the water, will try that.

definitely want to walk some bits of the sw coast path.

Healeys Cyder Farm, Trebah Garden and Lanhydrock

Respryn is a lovely walk, part of the landhydrock national trust estate. You can either walk to landhydrock house or to Bodmin parkway train station.

Lundy bay (national trust car park) has a lovely walk but your dog has to have a bomb proof recall or on the lead as in places your right on the cliff edge.

st kew farm shop allows dogs. Amazing food too.

Ah we love st ages - it is my absolute favourite place and very dog friendly. I would highly recommend a quick drink at schooners overlooking the beach - they do a great pizza there too. There are nice walks around st Agnes old tin mines too and a national trust car park. The views are stunning. Peterville Inn in StAgnes is good too.

North Cornwall is great for dogs and where we usually go as so dog friendly. Fistral beach is beautiful - we usually go in September and is great for rock pools. Last year our dog spent hours lazing about in them and then we finished with a drink at the beach bar and watched the surfers. Holywell bay, Crantock and Watergate Bay have stunning beaches and good rock pools too- our dog has a great time there. The beach hut at watergate bay has gorgeous food and lovely views over the bay. Very accommodating- even for wet dogs.

if you don’t mind the travel Porthcurno Beach is absolutely beautiful - its near the Minack Theatre which is dog friendly too if you wanted to look about.
Have a great time

Fingers crossed for some beautiful weather- September has generally been lovely when we go: first year we are not doing September in ages as our beautiful old dog has been unwell and can’t cope with the journey now but we have the most amazing memories with her there.

Forgot to add that there are some lovely walks and places in between passtow and Newquay/ the walk at bedruthan steps ( national trust car park and cafe), Constantine bay, Mother Ivey Bay, Trevose Lighthouse and Mawgan Porth are great too: we did bedruthan steps in the pouring rain and was so dramatic and rugged - warmed up nicely in the NT cafe after too. You can’t go to the beach there anymore but the scenery is spectacular.

Lanhydrock House has a lovely garden/park to walk around. The beaches around Padstow (Seven Bays) are all dog friendly except Trevone where dogs aren't allowed after 10am and before 6pm till the end of September. The Camel Trail is definitely worth a day. If you don't fancy cycling there and back you can get the bus one way.

Have a lovely time OP. I'm so lucky to live here!

Crantock Beach near Newquay has an amazing river for dogs to swim in - mine learned to swim there last month! Its still there when the tide goes out just much shallower. You can walk for miles along the beach too.
