IOW wightlink experiences

Hi all,
I am looking at going on a wightlink ferry from Portsmouth in summer, either fast cat or normal ferry, however haven’t been on a ferry before so not sure if I’d get seasick.

Any experiences of seasickness on either of these ferries?

I'm almost always ill on ferries but this was such a short crossing that it wasn't an issue. I did stay outside for most of the time though.

I can't imagine even people who are prone to travel sickness would have a problem on this ferry. It's honestly like being on a bus with a better view. Unless it's raining, I'd always go on deck.

I get seasick. The IoW ferry is the only boat trip I can actually enjoy.
TBF by the time you've exited you car and got on deck, it's time to go and find your car again!
Enjoy - I love the IoW

I have done the Lymington crossing which is very sheltered, you can see land at all times, and I was fine, despite feeling I'll on anything that moves!

If choppy the Fastcat can bounce along a bit. But it's a 20 minute crossing. The car ferry is 45 minutes but is pretty stable
