Sun holidays-be honest with me...

So I'm on a budget. Actually not even got a budget but want to make it happen.
Kids have never had a holiday due to finances. I think they would love it. 2 & 5.
Thinking Cornwall or Devon. Somewhere with plenty of child friendly facilities.
Anyone been?
Yes would love to go abroad, or go somewhere really special but this week I can't even do a food shop so that's out of the question.
Looking for recommendations of places anyone has been & was it really as cheap as they advertise?

I haven't been with DC but I did go on one when I was a student with some friends, it was fairly no frills, but lots of fun and right by a beautiful beach. Children aren't fussy about these kinds of things, them enjoy it. We didn't buy entertainment passes and took our own linens because they wanted to charge extra for those.

My friend and I went a few years back with our then 2 and 4 year olds to Butlins and they loved it!
It cost us £125 each, swimming, fun fair and shows all included, not sure where you are but we went to the Bognor one and there is a Tesco down the road so we did a click and collect - it was a just for tots break so all entertainment finished by 8 - kids back and in bed for 9 in time for us to watch Love Island 😂 great fun and the kids loved it x

I’ve done a few sun holidays in the past and never as cheap as advertised but still cheaper than direct however they’ve greatly reduced the amount of parks you used to be able to book, not sure now as last one was 2019 so quite a while ago.
id definitely look around at either holidays in advance, places like haven and butlins allow you to spread the cost by direct debit after an initial deposit or look for a last minute deal a few days before once you’ve saved some money up.
butlins have free funfair, soft play and swimming so once there you don’t have to cover too much if you take snacks and cook. Plenty of shows too

My advice is look first at breaks from the actual holiday park first as by the time you've paid all the extras on a sun holiday it often doesn't work out that cheap

I went to Butlins Minehead. Literally on the seafront. The accommodation was spotless. Really lovely little holiday

If you're on a budget then I'd avoid tourist hotspots such as Devon and Cornwall. They're also absolutely heaving a peak times.
Haven or Parkdean caravan sites can be quite reasonable and they usually offer Mon-Fri breaks which save a bit of money over doing a full week.
Location choice really depends on where you're starting from and how far you're willing to travel because nothing ruins a holiday like cranky kids in the car for too long! (assuming you're driving, if not then that also affects your options).

We always did Sun holidays when children small, they are brilliant although there can be added costs with entertainment passes and bedding packages, so beware when looking at what's included

We stayed here a couple of years ago Borth is a small quiet Sea side resort well just one street really, but a great base. We found the caravan on UKcaravans 4 hire. All depends on what you want?

Thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately all the parks via sun holidays are not available on our dates in August which is a pain as syncing holidays is so hard when you only get the choice of 1 week.
Will have a look at the other ideas sent. Some are £600-800 + so perhaps have to wait until next year.
